"Bedding Taylor Swift every night inside the Occulus Rift" is one of the greatest opening lines to a song (that's not a rap song), ever I think.
Go numb, go dumb. TL;dr, this could've been SUCH a genius record. Signs of Life & Electric Blue are my most listened to from here. And even though Pure Comedy has a very similar concept that's much better executed, Everything Now is so thematically consistent it's astounding. For a band that's always railed against the status quo mechanisms of the world, the idea to make a shitty, candy coated, Pepsi-commercial coded brainwash album is hilarious and iconic. By that lens, ... read more
Probably one of the most gorgeous and haunting things I've ever heard. Sounds like dying. Sounds like the afterlife. Sounds like looking at your descendants through a thin veil, hoping that they're fighting just as hard as you are. No use debating what this is. It just is.
This makes me wish that the mix on Double Trio 1 was better, because I'm not sure if wilder always means better. But it is damn good. My prediction is that if we are so blessed than an album drops, this would be the 365 to the OG's 360. Although I wouldn't be mad if they called an audible and said only 2025 singles are making the cut. Either way this album is going to change brain chemistry.
I've listened to this maybe ten times since it came out. I've been a bit depressed this week so this is hitting perfectly.
Cities Aviv has been doing well the past couple of years. Almost too well. Projects like the funky Man Plays The Horn & the mesmerizing The Crashing Sound of How It Goes have been decidedly bright points in his catalogue, experimenting with sampling and pop structures in ways that he hasn't since Come To Life. Continuing the trend on the hard-hitting ... read more

I didn't think that there would be an end to this journey, but really, there's no better way to end it than this. Looking back, I honestly should've said, this is the Bad Song challenge, or this video ends when there's a new Kanye song that plays. Sux that the ideas here are half interesting. Sux more that my hero is now a shit person.
In other news, I'M FREE AT LAST!!!! I'mma go listen to Mac Demarco and go to ... read more

I thought this was a beat switch on Victory Lap Four for about a minute. So it would be fake of me to say that I didn't think this went hard. But that ending sobered me the fuck up.

THERE ARE FOUR OF THESE?????????

This one is better than White Noises! And T-Pain is carrying, but Joyner has some good flexes in there. Trying not to be too much of a hater here.

This AI music is killing me. Love that hook from Project Pat though. Nudy sliding as he does. But the other features feel like they're phoning it in, or maybe the beats just not giving them enough. Feels like a missed opportunity.

This is the best thing I've heard on this journey. so far. Kinda dark and melancholic, was starting to make me tear up a bit. Dev's pain here is so expressive and expansive it makes me wonder what he's reflecting on. I hope he's doing alright.

On principle I'm struggling to review off the AI music video and cover. And of course dude's politics are kinda wonky here. But I am praying for a great album to come from this. Sadly this is the least interesting single to me. His verse feels abruptly ended and a bit meandering too. Throwing a lot at the wall, but nothings sticking for me.

What in the Fortnite am I listening to. If you think Joyner is creative, there's not a good argument made here. But at least the title was accurate, given his target audience.
