HELP ME!!!!!!! (the sun has come up and I'm still reviewing records)
Kate Bush ran so Mach-Hommy could build that house on a hill
why this album cover so evil?
why these song titles read like a conversation you'd have with a cringy partner right before you realize you need to break up with them?
why do the goofy music kinda sound dope?
I can't keep my eyes open on planes without getting massive migraines and motion sickness. So I always put on an eyemask, and go to sleep listening to this. It's really come in clutch when I needed it most.
I should go to bed instead of continuing to try and find records that I've listened to recently that I can provide a quick review too. Luckily the instrumentals here are so lush, glimmering, stark and inviting, that I'll have no trouble having sweet dreams tonight.
For years I really only knew Jumper, and didn't realize Semi Charmed Life was from THESE guys, but wow. This album is so rich, poetic, funky, and proud. Some of the lyrics are surprisingly haunting and deal with so many life issues that I thought I would leave behind in high school. Ultimately, its a record that's deeply about growth being an exponential, lifelong journey of hard work and healing.

Squarepusher is a musician. Wendorlan made me afraid that I was going to have brain bleed for the whole listening experience , but it's a pretty enjoyable guitar intro that sets the pace and scene for the album.
The brain bleeds come right after tho
Great music for looking at clouds out the car window, wondering where you are after all these years. Maybe too long, but definitely vibrant the whole way through.
ITS A STICKUP!!!! AYEEEEE!!!!!!!!
(in my opinion, much more exciting and engaging than his last record, production and lyricism definitely feels adequately balanced this time around)
I don't think this album is THAT great, but I can't stop listening to all the songs. Front to back on long rides for sure. It's amazingly produced, super catchy, with pretty much every feature pulling in some heavy hitting... but I feel like it shines most like a playlist. When I'm not distracted by a drive or a long task, there are some skips for sure. Something just feels out of place, or surface level about it as a total project/album? Does that make sense? Hope Mr. K ... read more
So good you could cry, Lupe really is the master of this rap shit. It's also nice to see him move away from trying to create a new sound that's gonna please stadium crowds, and still find the magic of an intimate concept album. What a swell guy!
Song feels empty in a way I'm not completely mad at. In a way, it fits the lovelorn message with a perfect amount of mystery. Or maybe I'm just depressed....
