Very listenable and surprisingly consistent album. First half has highlights and some less engaging tracks, but the album really hits its stride from "Still Here" onwards, where Drake delivers some of his best rap and pop-ier songs to date. Although, for the most part, the production is pretty barebones, it certainly compliments the style of the album. My overall favourites are "Feel No Ways", "Childs Play", "One Dance" & "Too Good" (among ... read more
An intriguing and inventive release from the genre-defying Machine Girl. This LP contains some very interesting sampling that really enhances its creepy and liminal soundscape, and its breakbeat instrumentals overstimulate your brain in the best way. Highlights on this album were the glitchy and eerily cheery "Frenesi", the haunting "Out By 16, Dead on the Scene" and "Mg1"; while far too short, it's my personal favourite with nostalgic soundbites from what ... read more
Deftones’ self-titled LP starts off very strong (Hexagram, Needles and Pins & Minerva), but there are very few noteworthy songs throughout the rest of the album. The other songs either sound like Deftones going by their own generic formula or failed attempts at making Radiohead tracks.

It also features the intriguing slow-burn disco style tracks “Too Much Love” and “On ... read more
Underwhelming for me, especially in comparison to Around The Fur. It’s more brooding, slow-burn songs just don’t really scratch the same itch that their raw, horny 1997 album did. Many songs don’t really seem to have a “point”; no climax, weak structure and messy instrumentals, especially around the album’s mid-point. “Change (In The House Of Flies)” is White Pony at its best, when all of its ideas and soundscapes culminate into a dark, vengeful ... read more
