Essential deathcore album. Not a big fan of deathcore normally but this is really good. Just heavy breakdown after heavy breakdown. I also liked the melodic metalcore-esque riff on "Destruction of a Statue", reminds me of As Blood Runs Black
Favs: Unanswered, The Fallen, the disease, destruction of a statue
Amazing riffs, technical as always. Drums are incredible. Vocals are also good, dont know why they got worse on their next lp.
Favs: Cold Hate, Warm Blood; Depths You've Fallen; Loath; Flames to Surface
Firat album with Ruben and Brad since MtD and its amazing. They said in the podcast with Garza this is the true successor to MtD. This is probably the heaviest thickest and brutal production I've ever heard. Many modern slam bands sound the same and uninspired with modern production but devourment used modern production tools and made something so heavy i have yet to find a similar album.
I think marvin teased some new material on Instagram. I hope they release a new lp in 2026. Its been ... read more
Revolutionizing slam. Ruben vocal performance is super brutal. The production sounds so raw but heavy at the same time but can be a bit quiet. The bass drops are heavy as fuck
Crazy hard slams. I have to listen to this and butcher the weak more, maybe I'll give them an even better rating. Butcher the weak and this one definitely took molesting the decapitating and improved on everything (somehow; mtd is already a great album) harder slams, more brutal.
i like the shift to political themes, aside from the lyrics the instrumentals are extremely technical while still being brutal. This is maybe the grooviest bdm album. the vocals are also great ofc.
