Same case as Gaucho by Steely Dan, this one seems too polished for its own good sometimes. Higher Love still bangs though
These guys switched up their sound and showed off a wider range of influences than on their two prior albums, yet somehow still manage to do absolutely nothing of interest with it. Total snoozefest. At least the album art is kinda cool
Title Fight doubles down on the strengths they displayed on Shed, namely focusing on guitar textures and some Pixies-esque loud/quiet/loud passages, to create Shed 2.0. Unfortunately it's still pretty boring, but at least there's some variety to keep me from falling asleep while I listen
I'm sorry, but this is such a nothing burger to me. Everything sounds basically the exact same to the point where I don't notice when one song ends and the next begins. I've given this so many chances but the only things that truly stand out in a good way are the guitar tone and the opening riff to Safe in Your Skin. How the hell did I miss this one? Sweaty and unrelenting, this definitely makes the list of my favorite albums from this year.
