This album from Lund starts amazingly with Fall Away, and reaches it's speak with Gold. Sadly, after those two tracks, there's just not much more. Chemistry and Alone are interesting, but the other songs were flat.
His vocal attention to melody and mellow tonality are rich, but the lack of creativity and consistency with this project made Lund appear, overally, just another rapper out there. I'm anxious to listen to his other, more recent, projects.
Baco is one of brazillian rap's rising stars, and this album explains why; it's not a surprise that it's his most well known production. It addresses the afro-brazilian condition and urban youth experience with eloquence, while mixing blues, rap and trap in a really creative way. This album is great. Really great.
And also, it's Baco's uprise to fame, from regional rapper in Bahia to someone Beyoncé herself notices. I ask: will this global recognition affect his future productions? Is ... read more
Really powerful vocals and interesting instrumental composition, with the piano. Also, love her impersonation; she really incarnates what she's singing about. From the mind behind the astronomical LP1, i expected more, even for a single.
I have to talk about It's Pouring Inside.
First things first: this EP, and Yung EMU's style as a whole, will likely not be aprecciated by anyone who can't consume superficial music. It's not that kind of music you'll say "wow, this is art", to. It's just fun, well produced and well sang 2010's teen/internet rap.
If you accept this EP for what it ... read more
This is a tough album to talk about. Most people can find it bland, unoriginal or just another pop industry miscellania. In fact, it's not, and thanks to the lyrics.
In therms of production (beats, samples, editing), Lolo follows the rules of the place she occupies. There's really not much originality in that aspect. We have our mellow bangers, with a catchy chorus and familiar timbre to how everything sounds together. She is, as a young artist, taking references and following the ones she ... read more
