Leonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen

Leonard “lullaby” Cohen. If I had a baby I’d sing it songs of Leonard cohen. Very relaxing and beautiful lyricism also repetitive at times (good for sleep).

F: Suzanne, sister of mercy, so long marianne

Radiohead - The Bends

There is a reason everybody is like “radio head”

Thelonious Monster - Baby… You’re Bummin’ My Life Out In A Supreme Fashion

Very singular which works in its favor sometimes. Sometimes it is sour pistachio singular

Joyce Manor - I Used to Go to This Bar
30

Made my drive so much worse. Youth pastor punk with cuss words who is your audience?

Tom Misch - Sisters With Me

Picked for you by Spotify. No issues, painfully fine nothingness. Boring as fuck and not bc it was slow. Sax crutch on the first song

Experimental Audio Research - Beyond the Pale

When god promises u the divine right to kill your infant this is what u put on as u get ready. Thank u bro for CD

Zack Villere - SNOEY

trusted follower listened tot his. Songs bloated with oddities that sometimes work and are fun and cool but often times bring the song down. Haven't heard roy blair since 2019, he was the best feat. Also didn't enjoy how muddy the mix sounded

Fav: Unusual, Satsuma, Issy

Kamasi Washington - Fearless Movement

Frying your brain the good way. Makes sense that him and thundercat got their start together. I found a poster for this in the free bin of my local record store, might be the coolest cover of all time. Imagine telling ur kid that this was u

Fav: Prologue, Computer Love, The Garden Path, Get Lit

Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why

Maybe the best indie pop production I’ve ever heard. Squeaky and lively w the crunchiness of pre 2000s video games. Milk is one of the greatest songs ever, felt that way before and still do. This album would be near perfect if it wasn’t for buddy’s vocals! Tame impala’s shitty dork nephew! U have an angelic voice as your counterpart yet u still feel the need to be in the mix. Roby is a savant as a producer but stick to hums and maybe MAYBE backing vocals big dog

Songs: Ohia - The Magnolia Electric Co.

Production is exactly what I want but I was not fucking with the vibrato. Some good songs where his vocals don't distract me though. Hes so close to sounding like mj lenderman. funny that I love mj but felt pretty indifferent about this

Fav: Hold on Magnolia, Just Be Simple, John Henry Split My Heart

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal

The kid has odd sauce

Fav: nausicaa, drinking age, cancer of the skull

MJ Lenderman - MJ Lenderman

Heart too big for his sleeve, yearn cup brimming. Mother fucking goated alter boy. You go boy. The big guy upstairs is proud and the little guy (me) is happey. Music that you drive 20mph in the 55 to. Music for the dude in his 1000 person small town that wants out. I usually prefer ambiguous or unique lyrics but he’s just throwing fastballs down the middle all gas. I also may be a nostalgia merchant, this wqs big for me in the past. But who cares

Pavement - Terror Twilight

Cement guys go out with a bang. Polished and shiny weird. no more teen angst this is grown up angst for real adults

Fav Songs: Ann Don’t Cry, You Are a Light, Carrot Rope

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR

Tyler's best. fun, no misses, in and out in 40 minutes. Singalong. Hughes vinyl shoutout M. Hughes

Favs: gone gone thank you, running out of time, I think

Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted

Taking the piss the album. Simultaneously cares as little as possible and has the most heart. slacker godfather album. Inspired bands to try their hand at trying less but u can't try less and do more as much and as little as this. Messy and batshit but so charming and funny that u cant deny it

Favs: Zurich Is Stained, Here, In The Mouth A Desert

MJ Lenderman - Boat Songs

Funny sports references. I bought fake Jordan’s, they weren’t even shoes

Favs: TLC Cage Match, Dan Marino, SUV

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon: The End Of Day

Decent high school stoner music with some high school stoner heaters mixed in as well

Favs: Man on the moon, alive, enter galactic

Pavement - Brighten the Corners
70

The highs are so high but malkmus’ vocals are hit or miss on this one

Favs: Transport is arranged, Stereo, Blue Hawaiian

MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks

The most earnest of them all. Cowboy hat too big for his head and all white church fit. Loving the country licks a lot more then I did on release

Fav: You don’t know the shape I’m in, She’s leaving you, manning fireworks

Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE

Not often that an album can hit u hard as a teeny bopper and then just as hard through adulthood. This album has been used and abused but has only grown closer to me. Incredible features, simple effective lyricism, voice from god, meticulous sound design/ instrumentation. Lightning in a bottle. Franklin ocean
