Pretty mediocre for most of it's runtime. The songs are good, obviously, but the recording and more stripped back arrangements is just generally a downgrade. However, I do think that I Think I Think Too Much is really beautiful and a valuable addition to Studying's catalog even if it's not perfect. It's a mediocre release as a whole and less engaging version of really good songs, but not necessarily bad or anything.
It's whatever, kind of a nothing burger of an EP. This thing really only gets points in my book for doing a decent job at the off kilter Post-Punk sound. The lyrics and vocals are both super boring, nothing about them is new or exciting, and they don't even do the established style that well. It's just boring and nothing special or unique.
A solid cut of songs from Duster, but with some major consistency problems. There's a fair amount of genre exploration on here, Slowcore and Space Rock are the most obviously present elements, but you can also pick up on traces of Post-Rock, Ambient, and even Noise Pop/Rock. All of that is to say that this album can be kind of all over the place, and it's definitely a hinderance. A lot of the songs I like slot into the Space Rock category, but with how much other stuff there is this ... read more
It's fun enough, definitely not the highest recording quality, but that's to be expected for a demo. The songs themselves are nice enough although not super interesting even if they are a good time. All three songs are good but the last one is probably the best, they all independently have their strengths and weaknesses and I'd say Wilted has the highest peaks from the project.

A lot of it is cool, actually the entire project is pretty interesting, but it's super messy and has a general feeling of being unpolished. I like the obvious standout Leave Me Be, but the other songs are just a little too sloppy, with both the vocals and music not being enough to offset that fact.
(thank u olly for the rec <3)
Enjoyable, but I found myself really struggling to be super interested or even focused. The music is really cool and so are the vocals, but a lot of these songs blend together and follow the same general pattern: a criticism I had for the last mineral album as well.
Another solid song from Studying and my first exposure to Carved Our Names In Snow. CONIS's (great acronym, i know) side is cool and contributes to the same General vibe as Studying, although to a lesser degree. I think the Studying track on here, while amazing, is the furthest the band has delved into being TOO long. Not to say an 8 minute song can't be justified in it's length, of course not, it's just harder to make work than a 4 or 5 minute long song.
Another amazing release by the band, just a little too short to be as enjoyable as their debut album. Super consistent and builds a really cool atmosphere across just 15 minutes.
Awesome emo stuff, an amazing blend of the more adventurous Post-Rock influence side with a kind of Post-Hardcore grit. The vocals and bits of lyrics I could pick up were cool but, jesus christ, this is a beast of an album just in terms of it's composition and music. Really complex with feeling overwhelming, dragged out, or unnecessary. Great album, I wonder how their EPs compare to this.
It's enjoyable, but nothing too interesting or substantial. There's some cool riffs and some cool moments, but it's largely not super captivating and a little repetitive.
Another fine execution of the Post-Punk Revival that has defined alternative and independent music in the 2020's. This in a vacuum is pretty great, but this sound is just so diluted and frankly overdone that I just feel disinterested. This band isn't the first to do this sound, or write lyrics like this, or have long explosive crescendos, and so it all just seems a little stale at this point. Tom's Tune is good and the exception to a lot of that, with the more acoustic first half ... read more
It's cool screamo stuff, but it's nothing too substantial. I like the way these artists consistently blend gentle folk moments with super noisy screamo, but besides that there's nothing that really excites me.
Very interesting. Chungi Revolution is a pretty unique song and I do like a lot of it, the transitions (or lack thereof) and overall structure just feel kind of forced and thus don't really work. However, this whole EP's instrumental palette and sonic range is really nice with Apple Cider Vinegar being a good B-Side.
It's pretty weird, and the genre tags didn't really give me the expectation of an album like this, but it's interesting and often times fun. The more horror core adjacent stuff is kind of meh for me, but I like the outro and hopeless romantic.
Pretty good, it makes me reconsider if I should give Pavement's debut another shot since I like this a fair amount more than I did that album.
Definitely one of the more consistent Pavement records, both sonically and in quality. It leans a lot more into the slacker / laidback sound that I really like, but it also keeps a fair amount of bite in it's sound. It's good runtime wise but I can't say it really has any of the highs of previous albums, but still solid overall.
Pretty cool, but nothing something I'm crazy into. Some stuff kind of drags and I think that really takes away from the more interesting Indie Twang side of things, but ultimately it's nice and a solid release with solid production and song writing from a band so small.
A little more chilled out than Metaphorical Music, but still really good. It's pretty homogeneous both in it's tracklist and compared to his preceding work, which can make it a little dry because some of these songs are on the longer side. Everything good about Metaphorical Music could be restated for this album, more or less.
Maybe a little better than I was expecting, but not by much. It's sometimes fun but most of the time it just gets on my nerves.
