The lyrical substance is there, its just a repetitive album. Wale's verses tend to be somewhat mono-tone and not of top tier quality. Production wise its a solid album however there are several severe mixing issues. The instrumentals commonly drown out Wale, even on choruses. This is album is for the type of rap fan that brands all artists from 2010-Present as "trash mumble rap".
It’s a bit better than average, but not anything amazing. Cyhi shows a huge amount of potential, but this album just falls short. Excellent features and production. Flows just got repetitive and it runs a bit long.
Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” is a cliche breakup album, but one of the few that actually has personality and is of artistic quality. Ariana displays a bit of versatility here, with her signature falsettos on “Needy” and then a brief rap hook on “7 Rings” just to name a few. This album is definitely one the better pop albums of the year.
Absolute godly instrumental by no other than Mike Dean. Travis provides his usual hook, nothing special from him. It’s a mediocre track saved by Dean. Released right after the breakup will secure it at the top of the charts for a few weeks even if it’s not deserving.
I applaud Logics attempt to write an album to coincide with his novel, but the execution completely missed the mark. While Logic has been on a downward trend since his debut album Under Pressure it is hard to see Logic produce an album worse than this.
I want to rate this higher but Tyler has been continually getting better with every release so I wanted to give him some room to go. The amazing thing about this album is Tyler’s instrumentals and composition. The fact he did everything himself makes things even more better.

Huge mixed bag from Hit master Post Malone. There are beautiful tracks such as Hollywood’s Bleeding and Internet and bangers such as Goodbyes and Die For Me, but sadly many terribly uninspired ones like Saint Tropez or I Know.
I appreciate Post Malone attempting to push the envelope a little bit and get out of his melodic pop-rap niche by incorporating more rock elements like we saw in the lead single Rockstar from his previous album, but more experimentation sadly doesn’t mean ... read more
This is a hard album to rate. It features some of Wayne’s best stuff and some is by far his worst. If it was more consolidated I can see this easily being a 9/10. 23 tracks is just way too much as only 7 or so are actually great.
Favorite Tracks:
Don’t Cry, Mona Lisa, Uproar, Let it Fly

Most of everything else
If you’re into trap music this is probably the best of its kind. The album runs a little long at an hour and 13 minutes, but only a couple of tracks fall short of greatness. As time goes on I think this project will be continually regarded higher and higher.

Denzel notes earlier in the year that Zuu would simply be a collection of bangers and that the deep thought provoking album, similar to his previous album “Ta13oo” would come later. Denzel accomplishes his goal with heavy hitting instrumentals and his wild flow. This album screams Miami/Florida rap.

Automatic, Carolmart
Ye provides insight into the life and emotional struggle within rapper, artist, and fashion designer Kanye West. The entire album fits this hero vs villain narrative of Kanye West the father and husband against Kanye West the egotistical celebrity while playing out in a Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type manner. Also 070 Shake is definitely the highlight of the album with her amazing performance on Ghost Town.
Best Tracks:
I Thought About Killing You, Ghost Town
Probably the definition of average. Take the emotion and personality out of Frank Ocean and you get Khalid. The “R&B” singer from El Paso Texas fails to provide a successful follow up to his debut album “American Teen” which was honestly a good album. Lack of innovation will continue to hold him back.
6IX9INE can make bangers like no other. Sadly though this album is riddled with features that in no way help (outside of Nicki Minaj and Kanye West). With 13 tracks at a mere 33 minutes long there’s quite possibly only 1 or two with replay value.

The long anticipated “ASTROWORLD” meets its hype, and then sadly falls off near the end of the track listing. An array of producers including Mike Dean provide Travis with some of his best instrumentals to date.

Nearly flawless debut album from Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s rap duo “Kids See Ghost”. West provides some of the best production in his discography while Cudi nails the vocal harmonies on this 7 track “all killer no filler” album.
