I am utterly amazed. Over 40 years into their career now, and Michael Gira and Co. put out not only one of their best live efforts yet, but one of their best efforts yet, period.
I already knew this would be amazing after seeing them live during their 2023 and their 2024 tours, as both shows were some of the best, and most intense experiences I have ever had seeing a band perform live. This is the best Godspeed album in years. It's almost hard to explain why, But I will do my best.
During their run of albums in the 2010's I personally felt their quality hit a bit of a stagnation. Not that what they put out at the time was terrible, hell, I even enjoyed the critically panned "Luciferin Towers", but it felt like everything they had to tell musically with those projects had already been told but better.
