Look, I definitely see the appeal and why this is streamed so much, I guess X's music just isn't for me. This album is so all over the place and feels like a shoddily thrown-together mixtape rather than an actual studio album release; the sounds and genres just go all over the place, resulting in a mixed bag. Still, this album showcased potential, and it is tragic what happened. RIP XXXTENTACION.

He was fairly early into his career when he made this so I can't judge it too much plus it's only 6 minutes, still fairly boring and one-note though.
Favs: "Brink!"
Worst: "I Can Tell"
Like almost all of this guy's music, this is just inoffensively below average, few highlights here and there, and nothing outright terrible, but overall everything just kind of blends together into a generic trap project with monotonous flows, boring production, and one-note lyrics.
Favs: "Dum, Dumb, and Dumber", "Due 4A Win", "Stuff", "Outfit"
Worst: "By Myself"
Quadeca is probably my favourite artist in recent times but goddamn this thing is pretty corny and just screams YT rapper, though I am less harsh on it cause of the age he made this at. At least you can see some early pockets of the artist that he would become in subsequent releases within songs like "A Dream I Can't Remember (Interlude)" and "The Man on My Left Shoulder" overall though, this project doesn't really give Quad an actual identity, it just sounds like ... read more
Damn, he was trying to warn us about C6, much like that album this thing just feels hella dated and terrible in every aspect. Also -10 for the song "Tity Boi" cause that title is terrible and the song itself is arguably worse.
Favs: "To The Bank" (Not even that good of a highlight)
Worst: "Tity Boi"
This album cover frying me dawg 😭🙏
Anyways, this isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be I really like how hopeless and devoid of an opener "Edge of the Earth/ Post Mortem Boredom" is and I wish Cudi made more of the album sound like that but instead we got some bullshit Beavis and Butthead skits peppered throughout. "Confused" bangs though that song is really good, also the title track, and the three-track run at the end of disc 1. Everything else kinda ... read more
It's not exactly bad "bad' it's just extremely uninspiring, dull, and worst of all, boring.
Favs: Admit It
Worst: Celine
Out of all the terrible rap albums by good rappers, this one probably hurts the most because you can tell that Chance wanted this to be a grand experience for his commercial debut and first studio album, only for it to be the most sappy, badly pop-flavoured piece of garbage. Now, it's not all bad; I certainly think the first quarter of this thing is pretty solid, with "All Day Long", "Do You Remember", and "I Got You" all being decent tracks, despite some ... read more
How tf did he drop veteran less than a year after this shit.
Favs: OR7 Clip (it's the least dogshit)
Worst: Everything else
Very cool concept; as many have said, this is essentially a podcast of Logic and Juicy, with songs sprinkled in between. Juicy is flowing very well and while not the most gifted lyricist, he says what he has to say with enough energy and good enough delivery to get the job done. The bigger standout for me is actually Logic's production. I know he has self-produced a decent chunk of his work, but this is his first fully produced album, and I think he did a great job. I'm not gonna act ... read more
New tracks only.
Yeah these demos are amazing, probably due to how raw they feel, which was already hard to top the original album in. The two new songs are easily album quality with "Wallowa Lake Monster" being a top 5 song across the original and deluxe tracks combined, also that version of Fourth of July is just soul-crushing.
Favs: ALL
Worst: Technically "Eugene (Demo)" but it's still amazing
HOLY SHIT!
What an introduction, I had heard of McKinley before and had had Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!? on my listening list for ages but never got around to it, so I saw this had come out and needed something to cleanse that more than disappointing Wayne album, so figured i'd put this on since it's pretty concise in length. I cannot compliment this production enough to do it justice, This has some of the finest instrumentation and jazz rap production I've ever heard, with so much ... read more
Reasons why I thought this album would be good:
-For starters the carter series is Wayne's 5 highest rated projects (excluding mixtapes) so naturally I thought that he would lock in for this one compared to other albums.
-I really liked Wayne's recent features, especially on "sticky" and "Saturday mornings" with both of these songs being personal favourites of mine on those two projects.
- Carter 5 had some amazing songs on it, and Wayne was in rare form, so I ... read more
Pretty basic, run of the mill rage song, at least Logic sounds like he's having fun
Mr. Lean returns with his most mature and introspective sound yet. He sounds far less drugged out and more heartfelt here, backed by some really beautiful and even melancholy-sounding production, which, honestly, has always been the strong point of his albums.
His song writing has also considerably improved, but sadly, his vocals are still quite dodgy as almost every review has pointed out, for me personally this doesn't completely ruin the experience as its pretty manageable on most ... read more
