Although I am glad that A Thousand Suns finally got its recognition, I could never get into this album myself. I love standout songs on their own but the complete listen always feels off to me.
A lot of horribly aged lyrics (cousin mentions, never going to fail, etc.) don't let me enjoy TLOP to it's fullest
I knew I was gonna enjoy it since it comes from my favorite Swans era. But I didn't expect it to be catchy. I mumble «Body, light, sound, mind, body...» all the time.
Loved all the singles. Both parts of Vermilion, especially. However, compared to Iowa, the whole album is so much less interesting.
It is not as bad as my score suggests. There are some personal reasons to why I decided not to return to it anymore.
Maybe it's not perfect. For me it is, though. I got the skeleton from the cover tattooed on my forearm for a reason.
Before listening to A2tC I had Welcome to the Madhouse by Tones & I at 0/100. Had to change it to 1/100 because it'd be unfair to both of these albums. Go 4 it, Corey!
I was on holiday when I heard this. My stepmother used to listen to the worst music ever on loud speakers during summer non-stop. Volunteerly listening to Welcome to the Madhouse though I wished I was listening to her music instead.
I was about 13 when I heard the majority of songs from here. Loved them. Moved on to other music. Recently returned to The Beatles catalogue and was quite shocked at how actually good Abbey Road is.
Wish I could play this record to everyone who thinks of punk stereotypically
Wooooooooow...
It really makes me wonder if I should regret buying a ticket to their gig
