I've been trying hard to avoid albums that I know will not be good, but I somehow got curious to try this because of the okay single Bloody Valentine. Well, at least I have a new addition to my "below 40" rated albums.
I actually don't mind How You Like That as a pre-release, but this track turning out to be the "better" ones here disheartened me and it's not even that good. This album experience just felt so uneventful which is ironic because this is one of the most anticipated release this year.
No matter how horrible this year is turning out to be, there still are beauty and hope lingering all along. I think Shore represents that flicker of optimism within me still. I think this one is their most accessible record to listen to, but it's still a consistent folk record that gives me a jumpstart or something. Beautiful is already enough to describe this album. Jeez, I'm so thankful for the music this year.
Been listening to some Elverum's works for like a year now and I just realized I haven't rated some of the albums yet. lol
The Glow pt 2 is undeniably an indie folk masterpiece. An emotionally desolating album that can go warm and comfortable to insane and overwhelming... and it all makes sense. This album is one of my all-time faves. Phil Elverum's mind.
