God I love when I find actual good country. Rare these days it feels. But this album is awesome. First exposure to this guy and I really like his sound
In my short review of Secret Name, I mentioned Low’s unique ability to make minimal songs sound large. This album is that x100. Never have I ever had an album of songs as slow as these keep me completely locked in. Take the song Laugh for example. ON PAPER not a lot is happening. Low’s sound truly can’t be matched. This is another solid record in their discography. The way they balance minimalistic meditative sounds while also being able to make those sounds FEEL so big is just incredible.
There’s some decent stuff on here, but the project is weighed down by a lack of focus and production. This group has potential and I think their upcoming release will be better.
