WAY beyond my expectations...holy crap!
This ain't just an album, it's an experience, which brings us a story of a guy named Pink who goes through tough times throughout these tracks.
The Wall is Pink Floyd's last great masterpiece, and should definitely be listened to all the way. No wonder it got turned into a movie, which Roger Ebert would put on his list of Great Movies.
My five overall favorite tracks here would be "Another Brick in the Wall (all parts)", ... read more
"ersatz shit" my arse. This is fantastic.
Absolutely mindblowing for 1969 standards. It was a great year for music (I mean, Abbey Road, Uncle Meat, Led Zeppelin II, etc).
The instrumentals are superb, the vocals are powerful, and the cover art is just an invitation to what's to come.
This album brings positive vibes from one track to the other. Nothing remotely bad about it. Every song is nice and catchy and brings a great taste of diversity. Fun collaborations with Linda Ronstadt and Los Lobos!
It did win Album of the Year for a good reason.
This is the first Kendrick Lamar album I've listened to entirely. Yep...definitely one of my favorite rappers!

Wow.
What a weird, surrealistic, and most of all amazing experience that was. It's one of those albums which leaves you in a tired slump, giving you time to digest everything you just listened to.
I have a feeling Michael Gira's a kind of second edition of David Lynch. :-P
Edit as of 1/25/2025 - Originally giving it 99, it's now an absolute 100! Rest in peace, Lynch.
Holy shit....
This might be the greatest experimental album I've listened to. Glad my mother introduced me to this mindblowing gem of a banana! You know you've created something incendiary when it's panned at first. As Brian Eno once said, "Everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies [in 1967] started a band".
We start with the wonderful "Sunday Morning", introducing the listener to some nice wee Celeste ditties. And then after the first chorus, the ... read more
