Beautiful, just needed a harsher industrial outro...but still better than some of her Brat tracks. Love how she's making fun of everyone who's chronically online, including herself.
First listen gives you an illusion that he's experimental, but the more you go by the tracks...he starts to repeat himself trying so hard to do something unexpected, but by that time we already know that he's attempting and not actually delivering it purposefully. So he becomes somewhat predictable, which is ironic because it is the thing that he's trying to avoid the wholetime throughout the album. It took me 2-3 tracks to notice his formula, and after that I knew what I was ... read more
I came to listen to it fully expecting to hate his chihuahua voice....but surprisingly, I didn't mind, rather changed my mind completely. Every song is enjoyable, the heavily compressed bouncy bass production with his pleasant flow glued everything tightly together. I liked how he didn't chase the beats, they weren't the main dish. Unironically though, the lyrics were the least interesting part of the album, which sounds ridiculous given how it's praised for its poetic ... read more
The visuals are stunning, the song however despite being catchy is still a bit underwhelming. At this point, the album sounds like it's going to be in multi genres, which makes it even more exciting ❤️🔥
Great voice stuck in the awfully repetitive composition, solid for commercials and ads....but all empty inside that calculated noise. To be precise, it is just a female version of Stomp, Clap, Hey
But, hey...Gun In My Hand still slaps, though
How is she still good at making music even after soooo many years????
This genuinely sounds like Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz
Specifically the songs like Miley Tibetan Bowlz, The Floyd song and Something About The Space Dude
I think it's the chord progression
From the masterpiece Magdalene to this is pretty embarrassing, and also the use of A.I is very disappointing.
Oh, FKA you have sooo much potential
The Jesus glazing is crazy....though, the music is genuinely sooo good that it would be a big sin to give it a bad rating
Cult propaganda, but make it a BOP
Above average
This is your almost typical AOTY album where the singer repeats the same old stale critically acclaimed techniques to gain higher ratings. All you have to do is play it safe, don't introduce anything new, don't project your VOICE too much or else you'll be considered pretentious, stay as accessible as you can without leaning to mainstream pop route, imitate retro vintage music with no experimentation whatsoever....the results will be this, just background ... read more
This whole album sounds like a cup of bittersweet coffee that you drink in the early morning, it helps to set that comfortable tone for the rest of the day.
But, I don't drink coffee like I used to......just like that, even if I enjoy this record, I wouldn't drink it daily on repeat, and I don't think it was meant for it anyway
Though, the lyrics are pretty simple, her voice ultimately elevates them to the point, where she manages to romanticize the whole feeling ... read more
My rant:
I like the album, don't get me wrong, but, I'm 100% convinced that this site and RYM, like anything that's similar to Pink Floyd!
The same sound, simple chords that drown in their instrumentation (they call it breathing sequences where arrangements just exist instead of actually doing something) , tired dad voice, nearly identical beats, surface level lyrics with a little hint of politics, philosophy, general lifestyle.
Background music for people who live in a ... read more
Boring, basic, tasteless, can't even rap, no voice, no effort, repetitive diarrhea, barely a track, half-baked ", instagram indie corporate music... this is some dax level shih
Only some of the tracks have decent beats, other than that, it's a complete skip
No, seriously I expected it to be more experimental....but, instead got shitted on....it doesn't even take full advantage of the industrial sounds to make something truly solid.
A quick analyzing:
1. Simple catchy chord progression that doesn't change throughout the track (gets repetitive and some of the songs are easily forgettable)
2. Overcrowded and overwritten lyrics (some of them are just random nonsensical words put together just for a rhyme to work properly)
3. Instrumental is just a background sound to set a tone (understandable)
4. The voice is decent (articulate enough despite the half-cursive singing)
Nevertheless, it somehow works
