Much better than DAMN and more fun to listen to than Mr. Morale. That said not all the songs here are amazing, but wacced out murals (surprisingly underrated) and reincarnated are peak Kendrick. Gloria, heart pt. 6. and tv off are great too
Definitely worth a listen if you haven't heard the hit songs from the album. The deep cuts just feel like weaker variations of the hits, dragging it down on relistens
What is there not to love about this album? Never overstays it's welcome, and no filler like their other praised album such as the White Album and Sgt. Peppers
I don't really have much to say about this album. It was mostly good, especially the first five tracks, and had a couple of bangers as well after that, but also few less than good songs. Probably won't be coming back to even the tracks I thought were good, can't say any really made much impression.
This album starts off super strong, the first four tracks are all phenomenal, but the second half is quite forgettable
Not bad but I can't pretend it's great either, outside of a few good tracks. Why does it sound like the Preacher Man beat is outrunning him? Funny how the AI version was better
Genuinely why are the vocals so crusty on the last 1/4th of the tracklist, these songs were great on the single releases
I don't get the hate for this at all. Of course I hate to see his label milk his stuff after his death, but just rating the song by itself it's pretty good. Catchy chorus, decent Eminem verse as well
Some of the lyrics are pretty corny but the upbeat J-pop instrumentation works really well with her voice
pretentious bullshit
there is a video of a guy on a subway listening to a dubstep remix of meme sounds, and the person beside him trying to contain his laugh. this music doesnt sound too far from that
Couple of fun new tracks and different styles for the original ones, pretty cool
This is actually a quite over-hated album in my opinion. I think this album's biggest sin is coming out after Discovery, which of course is the better album. And there's the problem of two of Daft Punk's biggest duds in Steam Machine and The Brainwasher being here. Other than that I feel like this is just a pretty concise and coherent album.
Best video game soundtrack OAT to one of the best video games of all time.
Lena Raine blends the synth-y 8bit gaming aesthetic very well with what I would call electronic hip-hop production, some of the best tracks here sound like beats. Only gripe here is that some of the less interesting tracks with less progression take up quite a bit of the runtime, which is quite long on it's own, but still great.
I also have to mention how these tracks are even better in the game itself, due to the ... read more
me when i make the second best song on my album exclusive to my japan (i wonder still clears)
When I was 14, this stuff was like crack cocaine to me, couldn't get enough of it. Nowadays most of the hits here just sound overproduced and honestly quite grating to me. I can still appreciate the more calm tracks here though, like the title track (first one).
I do like the artists voice, and the instrumentation is nice at times, but it's like I said earlier, overproduced to the point where it sounds like Instagram Reels or TikTok in music form
At least the first sampler had Beauty and the Beast. This is just boring. Not bad just boring.
That said I still have hopes for Bully, hoping it will be better than the Vultures
Beauty and the Beast is actually gorgeous even if it doesn't really have a verse. The other two are alright though, the Preacher Man beat is quite nice but this AI voice is not it. Damn is just one of the songs of all time idk
Want to do this thing where I rate and write a short review about every album Fantano put as 10/10s.
#1: KSG by Cudi and Ye
In some ways I feel the album is helped by its short runtime, in the way that it's very easily replayable and feels very rewarding upon subsequent listens. On the other hand though, the short runtime make the tracks I'm not crazy about stand out more, particularly Freeee and Kids See Ghosts. Not bad songs in any way, but they don't live up to the rest of ... read more
Only listened to this once so far, but judging from what I heard the production is still great, but Travis is just kinda boring
