Such a good record from the band, if not perfect.

One of my favorite side projects Dan has made, hoping Flenser will remaster it and add it to spotify.

Earth - Earth 2: Special Low Frequency Version

HELL YES!

The essential drone metal record is none other than the founding one "Earth 2". An absolutely jarring experience that is something like no other. It's an experience that is filled with booming waves of noise, happiness, nothingness, beauty, anger, destruction, noise, noise and noise. "Earth 2" is a perfect record, it leads to some of my favorite things like staring at the wall and drooling for hours, gaining tinnitus and being lost in something that cannot be ... read more

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
95

Small bonus review since I forgot to do a review yesterday and the day before that.

Psychedelia, experimental and art rocks were three of the genres The Beatles mixed together with LSD to make one of their best records."Magical Mystery Tour" contains my favorite Beatles song "Strawberry Fields Forever" it is also filled with other classics from the band such as "All You Need Is Love" the experimental legendary "I Am The Walrus" Paul McCartney's best ... read more

Drake & 21 Savage - Her Loss

Drake returns with a boring bloated record.

I have never been a huge Drake fan personally. Even though he is huge here in Toronto and is a big part of our Canadian culture he just isn't that appealing to me. His music has always been hit or miss. "Take Care" is a genuinely good record, not a mercy good record an actually good record. However after "Headlines" Drake's music quality has declined drastically. His music went from containing some effort to just being filler, bad ... read more

Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There

Black Country releases the record of the year?

From the ratings and reviews this might be considered the best of the year, and I have to agree that this is one of the best records of the year. Then again I have listened to like 3 albums this year so maybe I need to search a bit harder. "Ants From Up There" has an average of 8.9/10 from both users and critics and also has the "masterpiece" tag, so yeah this is the real deal. So here we go.

Swans - The Seer

Yeah you have to be pretty strange to not like this record.

This was one of the last records I listened to by Swans and it did not disappoint . I mean what did I expect, this is one of my favorite bands of all time, I had already given 2 of their albums 10's, so giving "The Seer" a 9.5/10 isn't much of a surprise. I mean it's Swans with a dark ambient destructive masterpiece. For 2 whole hours Swans keeps the audience entertained, with loud, angry and horrifying music. Songs like ... read more

I don't know what to say.

Words cannot describe my journey through this album. In fact I don't know If I can make this review long enough to display my love for this album. My journey through "Twin Fantasy (Face To Face)" was insane. From an absolute 0 to a 10. I won't bull crap you I HATED this on my first listen. In fact I couldn't get past the first two tracks. I was going to review this record and my headline was supposed to be. "Boring, annoying, quirky band attempts to ... read more

Björk - Homogenic

"Homogenic" is my introduction to Bjork.

Throughout my adventures of going down the music rabbit hole, there have been various names that I have listened to. Swans, Have A Nice Life, My Bloody Valentine, the list goes on. However I had not listened to many of the female artists I came across. Kate Bush and Alanis Morissette were as far as I went. However Bjork was always in the back of my mind as one of those artists I had to hear. I held off from listening to her music for a long ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - G_d's Pee AT STATE'S END!

Godspeed takes back what is rightfully theirs.

For a decade Godspeed has released a series of successful records in my eyes. "'Allelujah!-" and "Asunder, Sweet-" are two of my favorite records by the band. Ten years of absence led to those two amazing records. However after the two "Luciferian Towers" was released. "Luciferian Towers" wasn't a bad album, but the weakest material they had released. This sparked a fear in me that the band's next record ... read more

Pink Floyd - Animals

Pink Floyd X George Orwell

The story behind the concept for Pink Floyd's 1977 release "Animals" all can be traced back to the creator of everyone's favorite meme.

"Literally 1984"

"1984" and "Animal Farm" are both considered prime literature and some of the best storytelling ever. They are also considered two of the biggest warnings for our world and what could become of it under strong men. George Orwell wrote two of the greatest books ever, but ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Luciferian Towers"

"Luciferian Towers " swings big, and lines out.

After 5 very good records, and 4 of them being outstanding, we reach Godspeed's "decent" record. 5 records of madness and beauty lead right to this bands sign of wear. Most bands can't make 5 outstanding records. Godspeed is one of them however. Over almost 20 years the band made amazing music. They are one of my favorite bands, but this record was simply nothing more than "decent" or "fine". Godspeed shows ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress'

The most overhated Godspeed record ever.

This record was a big shocker for me. Well most of the top reviews are in the range from 60's to 70's I would say this record is an 8.5 to a 9/10. I honestly think this an amazing record with some of Godspeed's best music to date. Well being their shortest record I find it to be the record by the band that I like returning to the most. It's shorter run time and easy to understand concept and sound made it a record I found simple, but amazing. It's ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!

Allelujah! Godspeed returned!

10 years before "'Allelujah!-" Godspeed released "Yaqui U.X.O." A very solid record with very solid songs. 10 years later Godspeed released "'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!" This would be the first record in the series of records that Godspeed would release throughout the 2010's and early 2020's. This would also be their shortest record as of then, being 10 minutes shorter than their first record. It also only had a classic 4 songs ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F♯ A♯ ∞
NR

Well I suppose I feel like a bit of an outsider in this albums discussion.

Many well respected and great critics have given this record 10's and 9's and here I am giving this one a simple 7.5. First off 7.5 is not a bad grade and this is not a bad record. If looked at as a record in Godspeed's discography and as a debut, then this record might be a 9. As a stand alone record at least for me this is at most an 8/10. Me personally I wasn't as emotionally touched as I was when listening to their ... read more

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui U.X.O.
85

"Yanqui U.X.O." would be Godspeed You! Black Emperor's last release before they went on a 10 year hiatus. Featuring 5 songs and going on for 1 hour and 14 minutes, this record was a mammoth like Godspeed's other two records. This was Godspeed's attempt at really removing their samples and other sorts of commentary completely. Which served as a surprise to many looking for a record as good and as talkative as their last. Though Godspeed never used vocals, they always had men speaking ... read more
