Easily GODHANDUSA's worst release this far. While the flows are still pretty good, I feel like many songs here lack that proper punch that made the previous two volumes so fun and exciting. But here that punch has been replaced with a deeper message, at least on some tracks. And while that's not automatically bad, it does hurt the enjoyability of the music. Then again, the songs that don't have anything deep going are also some of the least punchy. Besides ''GO ... read more
They kinda mid I guess :/
''puddle of mud'' is the only noteworthy song here, with a more fleshed out and emotional sound. ''eat shit'' and ''uncle sam'' are pretty much the same song, and they just sound lazy, and are too short to be anything memorable. ''the jig is up'' is a bit similar, though maybe with a little bit more effort put in, but still nothing too noteworthy. And ''this kid i knew from ... read more
This was my first time listening to smokedope2016, so I didn't really know what to expect. Turns out this is some of the best cloud rap that I've heard in a hot minute. There isn't a single miss on this album, and smokedope shows off his artistic skills with great hooks, strong verses and nice writing. There's at least one or two catchy parts in every song, and they get stuck in your head super easily. And even on the slight off chance that smokedope's performance ... read more
This album started off pretty interesting. The first three songs feel fresh, they aren't your average Biv rap song with just aggressive, rough voiced shout-rapping. You get some normal rap voice Biv, which is always welcomed. But after that it devolves into very samey stuff that Biv has done before many times. There's nothing wrong with shout-rapping, but I feel like most songs like that from Biv go nowhere, and just remain the exact same whole way through, ending up sounding dull. ... read more
TiaCorine has been building up to this album ever since ''I Can't Wait'', and now that it's finally here, I sadly don't enjoy it a lot. This album is definitely less messy than her last one, but also less enjoyable. The variety is there, no doubt about that, but not as much as on ''I Can't Wait''. Also, these songs just aren't as good as what we got from that album. The highlights aren't too high at all, and everything from ... read more
Famous Dex is at his best when he sounds hyped and he's having fun, and that's the Dexter we get here. There's barely a hook or a verse where Dex sounds bored or serious, no, on this tape we get the funny, silly Dex, and a lot of fun, hyped up music. Is he repetitive? Yes. Does his singing on ''Took Time'' sound horrible? Absolutely. Do the songs go hard? Hell yeah. The writing is obviously lacking, but that's not what you come for when you listen to ... read more
Horrible skit to start off with, I am dying from cringeeee
Other than that this album is just passable. I would've expected something better with SKOTSKR producing the whole thing, but weirdly enough ISSBROKIE rapping over his production felt mostly dull. There's maybe a few bangers, but especially the first half is just kinda boring to listen to. The beats are cool, but Brokie doesn't do anything cool with them. Just your regular aggressive trap metal songs that she has done ... read more
Eddison, gearing up to release a sequel to his ''Acid Rain'' album, drops this little EP as a taste test. And oh my god, I hope the actual album will be better than this, because this feels so dull, boring, and boringly dull. Maybe I have just grown out of this sound, but nothing here sounds particularly good. Edd's voice has always had a low-budget yet enjoyable quality to it, and it's the same with this project too. Except on ''virgil'', I ... read more
This is the best music Darkie has ever made. The whole album is just absolutely beautiful and touching. Darkie's artistic growth reaches new lengths, with every song being very nicely written and produced, and the man himself sounding passionate during both the singing and rapping parts. Death, hate, struggles, misery, happiness, love, all these things are handled in such a beautiful and touching way on these songs, and it would be truly hard to say whether the sound or the writing of them ... read more
Just more great music from GODHANDUSA. Many of the songs here have that same punch that volume one had, while also including some more melodic and chill tracks here and there. But honestly, I don't think these two even needed to try new stuff out yet, I would've been perfectly happy with another tape like volume one, where every track hits you hard and fast. The calmer songs, while definitely good, make this tape feel less cohesive. Not the biggest offense ever, but just something I ... read more
I'll start off by saying that the concept of this concept mixtape doesn't come out clearly. Maybe I just didn't listen to the lyrics well enough, but trying to find where the different sections of ignorance, opening up and acceptance begin from is difficult. Once you figure it out it is a nice story, just one that is hard to spot. As for everything else, I really liked this tape. The first section, Acceptance, is the weakest part of it though. It's very hit and miss, with ... read more
A surprisingly boring listen from BRUHMANEGOD. He did call this ''a basic ass rap album'' himself, but like I wasn't ready for this much of mid. Many of the hooks and verses from Beamy just don't hit, with boring flows, simple melodies, and unexciting deliveries. Many of the songs just seem lazy, and especially ''GO! PT.2'' is a massive downgrade from the first part. He predicted that people would say that shit too, saying this on verse three: ... read more
No Latto feature breaks my heart </3
Just because you haven't dropped an album in seven years doesn't mean you need to make it 23 tracks long. Seriously, the main thing this album suffers from is how bloated it is. I started to feel a bit tired of this after ''Pretty and Petty'' and when I got to ''Trophies'' I was just completely done. Unless your songs are all extremely good, you shouldn't make an album this long. And while we got a ... read more
The cover art is beautiful, really loving it.
The album however has more bad songs on it than I'd like. The biggest problems this album's misses have are the bland, empty beats, and boring, simple melodies/flows. A song with great flows like ''Bassline'' could've been so great, but the beat stays simple and empty for most of the songs duration, only kicking in at the end. On the other side, a song like ''Our Lost Act'' could've also ... read more
You either love or hate this. It's either very relatable art or extremely cringy crap. Thankfully, for me it's more of the first one. Though I personally can't really relate to most stuff here, I am sure many other people can. I am just too much of a silly goose to think about life this way :D. Anyway, as I was saying, this truly feels like art. We get to see a personal side of Hobo Johnson, delve into his mind, while also not drowning in too much serious talk. The quick, fairly ... read more
The production here is really pretty and grand, and the vocals are decent too. But the songs just don't hit as hard as they should. They aren't as catchy as I'd like, and a couple of them kind of melt together when I try to remember how they sound. The writing is fine too, nothing super special but not bad either. Hopefully I will like this more sometime in the future, but for now it's just pretty nice.
Best songs: shallow
Worst songs: way out
Would've been a 100 but I'm not religious :(
It's quite cool that SosMula tried to do a concept album, but I can't say that this is anything else but okay-ish music. And while I think his horror movie themed style is a step in the right direction, he clearly hasn't perfected it yet. I like that the production feels very creepy and horror-like, but there's just so many songs here that they begin to feel samey, which really drags down their impact. Sure, most of ... read more

The debut album of the drill legend Chief Keef... obviously it was gonna be great.
Sosa knows how to make bangers, and that's about all this album is. Banger after banger after banger. The energy never stops, and you remain gassed up and hyped from start to finish. The beats go super hard, especially Young Chop produced ones. Chief Keef himself lays down some powerful and catchy hooks, and doesn't disappoint with his verses either. Only ''Laughin' To The ... read more
A short and simple EP that I find highly enjoyable. The melancholy beats are good, the autotune heavy vocals sound great and the flows are quite catchy. I again like how Peep and Tracy have different voices, Peep's being higher and Tracy's being lower. It adds an extra layer of fun to the tracks and stops them from getting vocally boring. The lyrics are fine, there's maybe a few cliche emo rap lines that feel a bit awkward, but those don't stop me from enjoying the songs. ... read more
