I'm a really big fan of Pusha T and I've been wanting to get into his back catalogue for a while so this was a perfect place for me to get started. Lord Willin' is an album I've wanted to listen to for a while, ever since I heard Grindin' on 2K. This album really follows in the same direction as Grindin'. Pusha and Malice know what their limitations are and what they're respectively good at, and they do a good job sticking to that and not going out of their comfort zone. And that's mainly coke ... read more
I’ve been looking for an excuse to write my thoughts on this album for a while now. While most people know Technique from his underground hit Dance With The Devil, he is so much more. In fact, it’s a shame that most people know Tech from that one annoying kid in your class that made you listen to Dance With The Devil once for some reason. These usually pay off, as each song has at least a minute or two that gets you invested ... read more
I actually wasn't familiar with this album until a short while ago. I knew who Mos Def was of course and Talib Kweli is one of my favorite rappers of all time, but I didn't know they were a duo until shortly before I did this project. Either way, this album fucking rules. The lyrical content is right up my alley with both of them rapping about their experiences growing up in Brooklyn where I was born, and telling their stories under different lights. Sonically, this album is also a blast with ... read more
