No shortage of beautiful moments and vocals, but overall, it's just a vibe.
There is so much beauty and heart behind this project that the impact is simply undeniable.
While there are a couple of lackluster additions here, a majority of the tracks play with a sound and style of lyricism that travels with ease from anger to catharsis in a beautiful way.
Incredible use of sounds and vocals, this record is a thoroughly original effort with only one miss.
Smart lyrics and slick production make the second effort by this magnificent artist a paradise for pop music.
Beautiful vocals with a sprinkle of unique instrumentation and lyrics that fit perfectly into the sound and mood of each track.
Beautiful, groovy, and full of heart. A phenomenal encapsulation of the legend that was Mac.
Many beautiful and well-written moments, and Do You Need My Love is one of my all time favorite songs.
Many pleasant and interesting artistic choices, but not nearly enough of it is all that much fun to listen to.
I can't help but be effected by the gorgeous work that Laura Marling puts out, and this is no different.
Incredibly touching lyrics, soothing vocals, interesting stylistic choices, and a warm emotional presence make this my current favorite album of the year.
Some of the most engaging musical work in recent memory, with manic percussion, spontaneous sound play, and beautifully exaggerated vocal inflections. Some of the songs don't hit as hard due to lyrics that don't resonate with me personally, but the tracks here hit extremely hard for the most part.
The production and stylist voice behind this album is superbly charming and delightful, with many nostalgic-sounding audible ques and effects. Samia's vocals are stunning, specifically on Does Not Heal, possibly my favorite track. The runtime is lean but provides plenty of emotional payoff to latch onto. Definitely up there with my favorite albums of the year.
