black midi - Hellfire
92

As the one bloke fro.m A Diary of the Wimpy Kid said, "GOOOD GOD MAN!"

Weyes Blood - The Innocents
87

Don't know why I didn't already have this rated, but of course this is a common Weyes Blood W

Drake - Honestly, Nevermind
65

This is such a great improvement upon CLB, and I cannot understand otherwise.

The Velvet Underground - Squeeze
71

34??? Y'all are hard cappin with that one. This would be in the mid-high 60s if it were masked as one of The Beatles first four albums.

Purity Ring - shrines
87

Purity Ring used to be one of my favorite bands back in the day, and after giving this a relisten, I completely understand why. Fineshrine and Grandloves are brilliant tracks

Weezer - SZNZ: Spring
54

If they make another Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, this will no doubt be their music of choice

The Chainsmokers - Memories...Do Not Open
58

I feel the need to explain why I don't think this album is terrible. So to start, I do have a bit of a bias considering I saw them on tour for this album a few years back. The did a good job performing and put some energy into the songs. On the album, much of the writing is hard to stomach, but many of the lyrics outside of that are totally serviceable. While the vocals aren't passionate, they certainly can provide for catchy melodies and choruses at a couple of points. Some of the drops are ... read more

The Cure - The Top
70

Totally forgot to rate this album the other day. Guess that proves this album's impact on me.

Injury Reserve - By the Time I Get to Phoenix
88

Anybody else notice the BC,NR (Athens, France) sample on Superman That?

Sebastian Comberti - Romance
88

The first half started pretty strong, but the last half was literally so gorgeous. I felt like I was floating above cotton candy and puppies and other cool stuff like that.

Black Country, New Road - For the first time
94

This was my most anticipated album of the year and it did not miss the mark.
The instrumentals were brilliantly fresh, the writing is some of the best I've seen in modern music, and the energy that is brought to every track is unparalleled

Hayley Williams - FLOWERS for VASES / descansos
84

Great follow up to Petals for Armor. This entire project essentially relies on the songwriting and Hayley's vocal presence, both of which were on their A-game.

Arlo Parks - Collapsed In Sunbeams
70

Everything worked, but there was no standout aspect inside of any of the tracks, so I wasn't impacted too much by the album overall.

Weezer - OK Human
72

This is the first Weezer album that I've heard all the way through, and it was pretty good. I loved the instrumentation and how light yet cinematic it felt. The writing wasn't terribly impressive in my opinion, but that was my only big problem. All of the tracks are well performed and have a nice energy.

David Bowie - ★ [Blackstar]
98

This is one of my favorite albums. Literally every song is great. Each and every moment of the project oozes with innovation, style, and sadness. He couldn't have gone out in a better way.

David Bowie - Diamond Dogs
77

Overall it's solid. Some of the songs are more conceptual and lack impact because of that. Some of them are also super catchy and exciting.

David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
85

This was great. There was such a vibrant energy to the album and Time is one of my favorite Bowie songs so far.

David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
89

The lows are good songs, the highs are phenomenal ones. Truly a classic album.

David Bowie - Hunky Dory
85

Life On Mars? Is one of my favorite songs of all time, and outside of that all of the others are still really good. For me, some of the songs are forgettable, but even those are performed well.

"@Sgt_PuRpLe doesn't sound remotely like the Beatles, but...quality-wise I don't think there is much of a discrepancy when compared to their early work"
On Sammy Rae & The Friends - Chapter One
"Yeah, but that's not to say any of these songs aren't technically 90s. Just kinda a mix of my enjoyment and what I appreciated. My mom likes this group a lot and I honestly wasn't expecting to like it this much, but I definitely appreciated the dynamic nature of the vocals+instrumentals bc you don't find that often. I guess it just comes down to I don't think any of the songs are currently going to sit with me as favorite songs and I would only give songs as high as a 90 if they were relatively some of the best I'd ever heard."
