I feel like a lot of people don’t entirely realize the entire story of this album. Go to this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttbXlHqsNVs&t=2808s They can explain it much better than I can. In short, this album is pretty much a perfect album to high-speed drift through the city at nighttime. Also, Blinding Lights is NOT overrated. It’s the most streamed song of all time for a reason. I hope that wherever Abel is now, he is at peace.
This album sounds like an island. It’s so incredibly joyous, and whimsical, and chilling the way an island is. Probably the happiest-sounding album that I have ever heard, even if some lyrics are quite dark and melancholic.
This album sounds both dark and danceable at the same time. This album is very important to me, as it was how I discovered Gorillaz. I love it.
Probably the most disappointing Gorillaz album ever. I can count on ONE HAND how many good songs there are on this album. However, those good songs are really good. Danny Brown x Gorillaz is never something I would have expected, but never something I will complain about. I just wish that we saw more of Damon on this album. Or, heard, I guess. Sex Murder Party is also their worst song of all time, and i hate Zebra Katz. This album sounds nothing like Gorillaz, and if it weren’t for a few ... read more
This is my second favorite Gorillaz album. Which is probably an extreme hot take, but I don’t care. This album sounds like space. Or a Magic City. Its futuristic, its atmospheric, its angelic, its heavy, yet stripped-back at the same time. I love everything about this album.
Is it crazy to say that I like this album more than Demon Dayz? In my opinion, this is the most emotional album Gorillaz has made in the last decade. It sounds happy, yet melancholic at the same time. I also think that this is by far the most experimental Gorillaz album, and the execution of the sound and writing is perfect. I also really enjoy the incorporation of the multiple different languages. Really, really great album. I am far from disappointed. R.I.P. the fathers.
I’m pretty sure this album has a concept. Someone feeling isolated, and slowly falling into insanity and loneliness. The soundscapes are incredible, captivating, and futuristic. The vocals are dreamy, and the writing is quite strange and abstract. I adore this project, it’s criminally underrated. I actually think this album is better than any of the Tally Hall stuff.
I mean, what hasn’t been said about this album. I’m just worried that I can’t like it as much as I do because I’m (very) white.
I somewhat enjoyed it. Sex on Fire is awesome, I love Use Somebody because if the memes that use the song, but everything else is either good or ok.
I can’t say anything about this album other than it is dark. Like, dark to the point where I am genuinely sad and depraved after every listen. R.I.P. Ian Curtis.
This is probably my favorite soundtrack from a show ever. It’s so dark, at times ambient, and it just perfectly encapsulates the feeling of Autumn. I love this album so much. Especially the pianos, they are incredible. Really every instrumental is incredible.
This album is pretty mid. Say So is an absolute banger of a song and probably in my top 100 songs OAT, but other than that song, this album is boooooring. Doja’s rapping is incredibly basic, the features are horrible, the beats are bland and uninteresting, and it isn’t even catchy. Doja Cat is supposed to be CATCHY!!! I don’t have a lot to say about this album other than it was quite boring. (Except for Say So, I love that song so much.) It’s a wonder how Doja can make a ... read more
Unlike a good friend of mine, who says this album is a “6/10, and mid,” I say that this is just a fun album. Full of fun tracks, fun bars, fun personality, and fun energy. The whole point Tyler made this album is for people to dance to it. And yeah, that checks out. This is the closest Tyler will ever get to an album like Graduation. Not in terms of quality, but in terms of catchiness and ‘danceability.’ This album came out about half a year ago now, and I still find ... read more
I found myself captivated by this album. Captivated by the production, the rapping, the vocals, and especially the artist. “Who the heck is Baby Keem?!” I asked myself. Turns out, he’s Kendrick Lamar’s cousin, and a pretty decent rapper, too. I say pretty decent, and that really is what I mean, as while this album does have some great highlights, it’s also pretty mid in some aspects. I think that there are entire sections of the album that literally just sound like ... read more
This is the worst album I have ever heard. F tom Macdonald, and F Trump supporters. They’re all a bunch of scumbags.
This is the peak of Kanye’s career, even though I think The Life of Pablo more, I can recognize that this realistically the better album. His bars are so witty and fun and full of personality, also, Kanye needs to bring back skits on his albums. I really miss the old Kanye.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard an album like this one. In short, this album sounds like another dimension. A dimension full of dreams, where ethereal angels descend from the heavens and sing choruses that sound like teenage British boys. And where guitars are made of lightning. And there are giant, futuristic buildings in the distance that pierce the clouds and light up with vibrant, unimaginable colors. And where humans are at war with robots. And where anime is worshipped.
