felt like a worse rehash of their last album, which i quite enjoyed. Some good moments, but a big step down
Oddments is more a mixture of the garage and psychedelic rock that the band had been playing across their prior albums.
The opener features keys reminiscent of late 60s psych rock like The Doors or The Zombies, which works quite well.

This is the album where most people start to pay attention. Regarded by some (fairly so) as their best album, I'm in Your Mind Fuzz is a return to the energetic sounds of Willoughby's Beach and 12 Bar Bruise but way more psych sounding.

The band takes a more psychedelic approach to their third album, opening with the 16 minute Head On/Pill. I like this version, but I recommend checking out the version on Live in Adelaide '19, a 30 minute rendition that interpolates several other songs from across their discography. Other than that, nothing really engages or keeps my attention on the album until the closer Float Along - Fill Your Lungs. It's a great closer, featuring lovely sitar and a relaxing groove.

To begin with, I'm not really a fan of narrative or spoken word albums like this to begin with, so I was a little apprehensive about even listening to it in the first place.
