Put this on late at night and wow it lived up for me. I think the biggest thing going for this album is that it can be extremely funny. There's some funny lyricism and great samples, but sometimes it falls a lil flat for me. I think compared to other MF DOOM albums, I wasn't as hooked into DOOM's lyrics. They're extremely lighthearted and humorous, but something just felt "off" compared to his other albums. The Smashing Pumpkins is the most baller ass band name, and cool ass names are part of what gets me into music. Yet, for some reason, for the first year of my music listening, I abstained from The Smashing Pumpkins. Back in February I listened to a full A Tribe Called Quest album for the first time. One of my homies was raving about how good The Low End Theory was and I decided to check it out. Instantly, I was hooked on A Tribe Called Quest and I did all their 90s post-Low End Theory albums pretty quickly.
