Coming up to the 2 year anniversary of me first getting into this sludge classic and I figured I'd come back to it as EHG is one of my favourite bands.
EHG is a household name for sludge metal. While a lot of popular sludge metal has a more accessible sound to it (take crowbar and acid bath for example), EHG sound like their inbred meth-fuelled brother who just learned about distortion on guitar. Death / Old school death metal (OSDM) in general is where I would start with metal if you already have some interest in extreme metal or simply want to get into extreme metal, fuck I'd even recommend this to someone who isn't that into metal (This goes out to my friend @cooj, if you're reading this listen to pull the plug and tell me it isn't flames). Death are not only a classic band, but are also essential to OSDM and are fucking fantastic in general.

This is the kind of metalcore that is brilliant. If you hate metalcore and your only understanding of it is bands like bad omens then you don't know the peaks of the genre
