My personal favorite Beach Boys album.
The final 3 tracks are such an incredible run, the best tracks Brian Wilson wrote in his entire career in my opinion. Reflective of what Brian was experiencing at the time, they rip your heart out and shatter it into a million pieces. And I love it.
An absolute enigma of an album that shouldn't work, but it does.
Love You is pure, unadulterated Brian Wilson. The lyrics, while cheesy, dated and, at times, creepy, are pure fun. You can easily tell Brian had such a good time writing the material and messing around with various synthesizers to get the sound right. Such a good listening experience that is often overlooked.
As a Foster the People fan, I threw in the towel at the beginning of this year. They were never coming back. But I was wrong, and holy shit am I glad that I was.
Foster the People has returned with their first full length album in 7 years with a completely new, unexpected sound. After a lengthy hiatus, Foster the People returned. And I couldn't be happier with what we got. This is a new sound for the group, and while the depth of the lyrics seems to have taken a hit, their sound certainly has not. A fun song with interesting production that I can listen to again and again.
