a man that threw his life towards hatred and shit, now broken and trying to redeem himself doing, with little passion left, the only thing he knows how to do: music. the result is a pitiful, boring collection of tracks that are just as good as the worst half of the tracks on donda.
at least its better than vultures and some of the songs are interesting to listen to when you visualize Ye as the shell of a man he is
im not that kind of person but i got genuinely angry listening to this for some reason
in some rare moments the synthy math-metal riffs sound interesting, but are quickly cut off by the awful and obnoxious vocal melodies
KENNY BEATS PRODUCED THIS???
Getting Killed was my introduction to the band and holy crap, this has so much personality I had to immediately return to some tracks right after my first listen and have not stopped obsessing with since then. Cameron Winter has such an unique and captivating voice and writing style, and that, paired with the amazing and out there grooves and performances of the rest of the band, creates a project that never gets old.
refreshing to hear her over some production that isnt just some Jack Anthonoff slop (no shade, loved his work on Ocean Blvd).
this album can be very generic sometimes (like in Opalite...), but I found this album to be pretty enjoyable overall
not as bad as everyone says
the well produced blend of metal, pop and R&B makes for a kinda enjoyable project overall, even if sometimes it sounds washed out and souless like an imagine dragons' record
enjoyable
edit 70 - 60: didnt return to it as much as i thought i would. Still a vibe tho
although it is less adventurous and diverse than 'Slide', this album presents us with a more mature songwriting and a more consistent tracklist
if weezer and radiohead had a baby and it was really into anime
cool backstory tho
