Have Heart - The Things We Carry

The Things We Carry is truly a hardcore essential in my eyes. Lots of awesome melodic riffing, & moshable drumming. Pat Flynn’s vocals are super passionate & his songwriting is so good. Not my favorite Have Heart record, but it’s super close to being as good.

Balmora - These Graven Halls

These Graven Halls has been one of my anticipated releases of 2026 & it’s finally here! Balmora are steadily bringing melodeath into the metalcore mixture on this album. Lots of stellar guitars, & brutal mosh moments. I knew Paul was gonna be a great fill in as vocalist, being familiar with his work from Since My Beloved, but he really knocks it out of the park with these screams. Metalcore for cryptic beings to sum it up in a few words. It’s a little long, but it’s an ... read more

Turnover - Down on Earth

Turnover’s sophistipop arc was clearly just a phase, because now they’re back making indie rock. Only this time, there’s a little post punk swag to it. Lots of serene instrumenation going on, giving that springtime feeling. Austin’s vocals sound sweet, although there are some unusual moments where he kinda sounds like Wicca Phase. Just like their last album, Down On Earth is certainly a grower rather than a shower, but it’s still full of pleasant tunes.

I rarely ever listen to Regulate, not for any reason, they just don’t come up on my radar enough. I decided to check out their self titled album, & it’s pretty interesting to say the least. It has that New York hardcore flare with some awkward pop punk cuts. Good vocal presence & musicianship though. This is pretty decent, couple of weird moments, but not bad.

feeble little horse - bitknot

Feeble Little Horse are finally back with their third LP, Bitknot & it’s so charming. It has a lot of relaxed vibes, giving that laying down on the grass & looking at the clouds slacker rock music, while still being super noisy. Lots of neat sound designs & sweet acoustic guitars as well. Lydia’s delicate voices are always so enchanting, I also love her random outbursty screams that appear for a moment. I can’t really tell if this tops their last album, but ... read more
