I'm embracing this bewildering loneliness

And you don't seem to understand...

After seeing those TikToks of Serial Experiments Lain, and eventually watching the show, I was shook, I didn't know that Duvet was the opening of the anime. I love that song, so I decided to check out the album. I was met with these ethereal, liminal space of rock. I don't really enjoy rock or these type of music in general but I'm open to anything. Run away with me!

One of the greatest album of its decade, for me, it still is to this day. It was a pivot for Carly from a "one-hit-wonder" narrative to a cult-pop powerhouse. It heavily revolves around 80s-inspired synth-pop revivalism, instead of just mimicking the decade, it felt like you were in it. The wall of sounds, collaborations, lyricism and theme is nothing but a masterpiece. She went from radio-safe pop to a critic darling, and gaining a massive cult following.

Oh boy.

While I appreciate some of the tracks on having some catchy moments, its production is overly repetitive. All songs are mostly just sex, hence the EP title. I cannot bear myself to like Dr. Luke's production, as well as his problematic figure. I'm glad Kim Petras is doing her own thing and is back with her hyperpop and experimental scenes.
