Alright so I wrote basically a whole paragraph on this thing but ended up erasing it all on accident and I don;t feel like writing it all again so fuck me I guess. In a nutshell it was me talking about how this is the band that got me into the genre, how this is the album that got me into the heavier side of the genre and how the more time went on the more I appreciated this album. So idk just pretend this is a nice review and not a lazy one

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
100

Hell yeah🗣 I actually used to think this album was overrated but now i get it now. Chester and Mike's dynamic was incredible and I think it really shows on this album. Rip Chester
Top 3 songs: One step closer, Papercut, In the end
Least favourite: Cure for the itch (probably cheating to put this but I mean what else am I supposed to put?)

Mayday Parade - A Lesson in Romantics
76

Finally got around to listening to this and I'm pretty happy I did because this is pretty damn good. My only real complaint is that some songs feel a bit forgettable to me. Also why are these critic reviews so funny 😭 "these boys need to go back to school" ???😭
Top 3 songs: I'd hate to be you.., Jamie all over, Miserable at best
Least favourite: When I get home you're so dead

Magnolia Park - VAMP
72

Yeah its pretty basic but its a nice listen so I don't really mind. It's cool to see Vana and PINKNOISE on here, they both give great performances (as does PLVTINUM). Ngl I think Ophelia is pretty corny and a little much. I didn't really like Shadows talk that much either. This album is pretty bland but like I said, it's a nice listen so I don't really care that much. I think the singers got a nice voice and does a good job for the most part
Highlights: PAIN, CULT, THE ... read more

Lambrini Girls - Who Let the Dogs Out

The production is really solid but I think it's her performance that really throws me off. I respect it but it's just not really my thing, which is a little surprising to me. I feel like this would usually be right up my alley but for some reason i'm just not that into it and find it a bit exhausting to sit through
Highlights: Bad apple
Least favourite: Big dick energy

I Set My Friends On Fire - Astral Rejection (OG)
69

It's not as good or fun as their debut but it's still good. I'll never understand record labels because how do you hear this and choose to just scrap the thing until 9 years later? Some parts of this album are a little boring but songs like Astral rejection and Excite d-ke (not sure I can say that word) are pretty sick
Highlights: Excite d-ke (favourite), Cantaloupe the antelope, Astral rejection, Infinite suck, Reborphin, Commit to the hypothetical

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
100

I love you Michael romance 🗣

From First to Last - Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count
85

For the last week I haven't been able to escape this band and I already liked Note to self and Emily so I finally decided to listen to it and I'm happy i did cause this is great. Also I only learned a few days ago that Skrillex was the singer for this band which is pretty awesome. There are some pieces of music that you can tell were made with passion, especially in the emo scene, and this album is one of them for sure

BOYS LIKE GIRLS - Boys Like Girls
72

More like boys like boys😼
Yeah it's nothing incredible but it's still pretty good and was better than I was expecting. I've been really into listening to this whole era of emo music (or whatever the fuck genre it is, who cares) recently and I've been enjoying it a lot. Like I've always enjoyed and loved it but the last few days I've been listening to quite a lot of it and have been enjoying it all so far and this is no exception, although i'm not the ... read more

Paramore - All We Know Is Falling
76

This album's sound is a bit more amateur sounding than Riot but still has the heart of the band that carried through the rest of their projects. It's probably their worst album (I still haven't listened to self-titled so I can't say for sure) but it's still pretty good for being the weakest
Top 3 songs: Pressure, Emergency, All we know
Least favourite: Whoa

Thornhill - BODIES
83

Pretty fricken epic if you ask me. I got into Thornhill not too long ago (a few weeks ago) and liked the two songs I heard, both of them being on this album (TOUNGES and Obsessed), but wasn't too sure how i'd feel about a whole album but after listening I can happily say I was wrong for thinking that because this albums badass. It's not perfect but it's still very good and I definitely see myself coming back to this
Top 3 songs: nerv, Only ever you, Obsession

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz
96

She really dropped two of the best albums of the year so far. This album proves my stance that Jane is arguably one of the best and most exciting artists currently making music. She hasn't missed once yet in my opinion and its safe to say she has an amazing career ahead of her
Top 3 songs: Experimental skin, Professional vengeance, angels in camo
Least favourite: TWICE REMOVED

BABYMETAL - from me to u
80

Babymetal and Poppy is a collab I wasn't expecting somehow but after hearing it was happening it made perfect sense. Babymetal will always have a special place in my heart for being one of the first bands that really got me into metal and all its sub genres, they'll always be one of my favourite bands (although I do hate that they're collabing with Slaughter to prevail, fuck Alex terrible). I'm convinced Jordan Fish is allergic to making a bad song

Metro Station - Metro Station
63

Aside from a few songs I don't think I really see myself listening to any other song off of this album outside of listening to the thing which I doubt I'll be doing. This albums just pretty dumb fun and has Disney channel vibes to it, not much else to say other than that tbh

Alvvays - Antisocialites
98

This is pretty similar to their self-titled album but more energetic, and I think it's better than the last. Not by a lot as I also really loved that one but this one surpasses it in vibes alone. They're already climbing up there for one of my favourite bands just based on not just two albums, but two near perfect albums
Top 3 songs: Dreams tonite, Lollipop, Saved by a waif
Least favourite: Already gone

Sleeping with Sirens - Let's Cheers to This
87

I was kinda shocked to find out this album came out in 2011 ngl. I was gonna make a joke about how this album was old and ancient to make the people who were there when this came out feel old but I'm older than this damn album so nvm. Sure it's maybe a little cringe but like who cares, a lot of stuff from this era of music was lyrically cringe but it's also good so it doesn't matter to me. This album is far from perfect but it's still great in my opinion

KILL KARL - I’M A METALHEAD, BITCH!
0

Who is this made for 😭

IDK - CLOVER
85

I gotta check out IDK soon man cause this is so good. I love jvb but IDK did really good on this song

PINKNOISE - NEVER LAST
76

Occasionally Instagram will show a good artist on my feed and this is one of those moments. As I'm typing this I realized this person has kind of a similar thing that happened with Ennaria where their first song blew up from promoting it online which is pretty cool (shoutout Ennaria btw, she's badass). This being the first song from PINKNOISE it makes me excited to see where they go and what's to come

On TX2 - End of Us
"@AidenBowe45 I’ve been a firm believer that tx2 could make some great stuff if he tried for years now. His cover of Cry by the used is a good example that he could be good if he wanted to. It would be cool if a few years down the line he’s totally matured as an artist and is making good shit but as of right now he’s still got quite a bit to work on"

On Dave Blunts - You Can't Say That
"@joxikk I would honestly. The whole Goblin era of Tyler sounds like it was made for 14 year old white kids who think it's funny to say the n word. One thing I kind of wish I went more into in my review is that it's clear Dave is only doing this for money and that shows in the lyrics. Even If you want to bring up the edgy lyrics in wolf at least that album had a story and genuine care put into it. This doesn't have any of that. It's just simply made to bring more attention to Dave Blunts and give him more money when there's other smaller rappers who are actually putting in the work and who actually care about the genre who deserve the recognition that he's getting. Tyler wasn't a clout chaser only looking for money, Dave is though"
