I just made a review on Tickets to my downfall where I basically mentioned how I respect the album but it just wasn't my thing (and more but you can check the actual review for that). This song I actually like though. I listened to this before I knew the meaning (and tbh I wasn't really paying much attention to it) and thought it was just kinda whatever. But after watching some of his warped tour set, hearing him talk about the song, and just putting on a good performance I finally ... read more
Yesterday I was bored so I decided to watch some of mgk's warped tour set, just to see how it was. He brought out one of his friends and before he went off stage he started telling mgk that this album is the best pop punk album of this generation and said that Warped tour probably wouldn't have come back if he didn't make this album. Which I thought was insane so decided to listen to this album again to see if maybe this wasn't that bad. No, it's still pretty bad. ... read more
It's pretty alright. Nothing special but nothing bad either. Finn Wolfhards one of not a lot of celebrities that just seems like a chill guy to hangout with. This album is pretty generic, which isn't entirely a bad thing in some cases, but it does cause this to feel a bit empty at times
Highlights: Choose the latter (favourite), Eat, Objection, Trailers after dark, Crown
Least favourite: Happy birthday (If you wanna count that)
Idk what The living tombstones deal is so idk whether or not this is serious but either way it sounds bad. It's not terrible and has some listenable stuff but this is just some nerdcore shit that just isn't really my thing at all. Their FNAF songs are kinda gas though
Why do people think this song is bad but still like it? I happen to like ISMFOF's cover of Crank that, even though I know when i'm listening to it that it sounds bad. This song feels very different to that though as this actually just sounds good and is a really good song which is why i'm confused why people say it's bad but still give it a high rating. If anyone who thinks that way about this song could explain that then please lmk
I mean what am I supposed to say? I feel like everything positive that should be said about this album has already been said. It's heartbreaking, amazingly written, and one of the best albums of all time in my opinion. It's also in my top 5 favourite albums. Okay I'm typing this part as in trying to pick my top 3 songs and this is actually impossible.
Top 3 songs: Welcome to the black parade, This is how I disappear, I don't love you
Least favourite: Teenagers
This dude is allergic to rhyming after 3 bars π
There are two ways you can look at this. 1: This is awful and one of the worst things released this year. Or 2: This is awful and one of the worst things released this year, but it's entertaining enough to where you can't help but love it. I fall under the second category here. I think Smiley genuinely might be one of the worst rappers I've ever heard but every song I hear of his I can't help but find absolutely hilarious. I ... read more
Major Vessel vibes from this. One thing I liked about Clancy is I feel like it was embracing all of their eras and combining them together, and this song does something pretty similar to that while still being able to stand on it's own. The last two or so months I've gotten really into Twenty one pilots, I've loved them for over a year now but now I'm at the point of considering them in my top 5 favourite artists. When Breach was announced it immediately became my most ... read more
The first half surprisingly ain't that bad. It's not good or anything but I wouldn't consider it bad. Just mostly forgettable. The second half however, is quite awful and makes me genuinely wonder how he listened to those and thought they should be out there. Before I get into that though I do want to talk about some positives first, otherwise what would be constructive about this. I really like the intro Welcome to Tha Carter, although I'm not gonna act like I haven't ... read more
I gotta be honest, I've never actually listened to McKinley's previous album. I've seen the cover art plenty of times but now that I've listened to this one I do plan on checking that one out because this album is stellar.
As good as I think McKinley and most of the features are on this album the production is definitely the highlight for me. Every beat is sick and I love the live instrumentation on this thing. This is definitely a big stand out of the year so far and so far ... read more
This is easily their best album. As much as I love Clancy I'm not sure they can top this album. I do hope I get proven wrong with that statement though. Those first 5 songs is one of the best 5 track runs in my opinion. Someone can tell me any of those songs are their best song and I would agree. Neon Gravestones is arguably the best written song on this album, talking about and criticising the glorification and romanticising the idea of suicide. I think every song on this album is ... read more
This was way better than I was expecting ngl. I've liked everything I've heard from Kmoe before listening to this so idk why I was expecting to just think this was fine, but it actually surpassed my expectations more than I thought it would. Kmoe on deadair really has some of the coolest artists under them, they're one of not many labels that I think does a great job at finding artists and knows who to sign. Kmoe did a great job here and although I think he can for sure top this ... read more
As good as this is I unfortunately still can't take Addison Rae seriously as an artist. All I can think of is that i'm listening to a tiktoker when I listen to her
EDIT: Dude what was I talking about, this is perfect. Original rating: 87
Dude, I've been waiting for this for quite some time now. This was easily my most anticipated albums of the year before it was even announced. I'll be honest, it is a little disappointing to me as it does sound a little too similar to GLOW ON, but i'm still pretty happy with it. I love the transitions, they're honestly the best part of the album. They're also most of the album. Brendan has an ... read more
That fuckass intro song is really the longest song on this thing ππ Everyone giving this a low rating doesn't know how to have fun because this is just dumb fun. "oOoOO the lyrics suck" WHO CARES, ITS FUN. I’m convinced trans women are born to make electronic music or music with electronic elements because there’s no reason why some of my favourite producers in that sound are so good. Almost every song is under 2 minutes but I think it works. No song is overly ... read more
Y'know i'm usually not a fan of Miley Cyrus, I find her voice to be a little annoying and hard to get into but I actually think she sounds incredible here. The production was not at all what I was expecting and I'd love to see her use this sound more often. This album surpassed my expectations in every way possible
"Gen z's political revolution" ahh album
I always try going into Yungblud's music open minded as he's made some songs I genuinely like but has also made some pretty terrible music as well. This is his best album so far (Idols still hasn't come out yet). It's pretty hit or miss but when it's good its pretty good. Parents is lowkey cringe but idk the chorus is catchy. I really don't like the mgk song here, pretty self explanatory. Surprise surprise, a ... read more
I went into this not expecting to like it as I didn't really like it when I first listened to it about a year ago but it's actually grown on me quite a bit. For Twenty one pilots standards it's pretty whatever but as a pop album it's pretty good and still has those elements that keep it sounding like Twenty one pilots for the most part. Idk whether or not I like Saturday or not. It feels a little too basic, especially on the production side, and in comparison to the stuff on ... read more
Has it aged the best? Not really, but it's still really good. The rapping on this album specifically i'm still getting used to but it's pretty good for the most part. This album screams early 2010s with all the ukulele on this thing but it just works, and I hate the ukulele. The electronic elements of this album are sick as hell too. It really shows on Car radio, which is probably corny but idk I think its good. Fake me out, although not my favourite songs off the album, has a ... read more
