As far as the OSDM in the 90s go, this is one of the best albums instrumentally.
The guitar is raw and dirty and makes the atmosphere more evil and drums are pretty good and remarkable and the vocals are perfect for this album.
Blood and War!
Moonblood dropped a shit load of demos and rehearsals until they released their first LP in 1997.
It's evil, it's epic, it's Moonblood
When talking about the first black metal records, people tend to have different opinions. Some might say Venom which I disagree because it was more speed metal than black metal. And the others believe it's the almighty bathory!
From the first track Quorthon takes you to hell with the tremolo riffs and his evil vocals.
The production is raw, which makes it even more perfect.
If you're looking for brutality, this Canadian band won't disappoint you. From the crunchy low tubed heavy guitar tone to the raw snare to the low gurgling vocals.
This album is truly perfection.
CC is probably the most popular death metal band out there, Well this record shows why.
This album is a classic, from the guitar tone and riffs which melt your face to the drums to the absolutly magnificent vocals. In 1991 no one was doing what Chris Barns was doing, it was insane and heavy af.
Butchered at Birth and Tomb of the Mutilated are 2 albums that helped to shape brutal death metal we know today (You can consider them proto-brutal death metal if you ask me)
Entry level black metal, if you don't like this you'll probably never gonna make it. Mayhem is not my favourite band, not even close but let's face it, this one is remarkable and probably the most influential album in the history of black metal.
Love it or hate it, It's Mayhem as its best.
Alas! I was not made for this hatred...
It truly makes you think, doesn't it? The debut album by the French one man act is beautiful, It's full of emotion, it's full of pain and it's full of beautiful atmospheric riffs.
It's DSBM as its finest...
The production is raw which makes me love it even more.
The album from start to finish is exactly how I love my music, heavy and brutal.
10 tracks, 24:54 Playtime. Awesome stuff, blastbeats driven by deep guttural growls and guitars which make you feel you're being disemboweled
It's a raw atmospheric masterpiece.
The riffs are catchy and memorable.
This album feels like being stabbed to death! Love its riffs, love the vocals and I admire the drum works on this album, it's fucking insane!
As a brutal death band they are raw and it makes them even more brutal! There's just something different between Ecchymosis and other BDM bands.
The guitars are pretty down-tuned and extremely heavy, even a single chug is enough to prove that this is indeed, heavy.
The vocal work is magnificent. It's an extremely wet, guttural, disgusting, gurgling pile of beauty.
I would recommend this album to any BDM and slam maniacs.
Gelal isn't as great as he used to be. Not the worst but still could be a lot better
Another banger from one of the most consistent bands in the bdm scene.
Perfect for walking your dogs, cleaning your house and killing your enemies while making them beg for death
Wow a perfect brutal death metal (brutal deathgrind if you will).
They really know how to keep balance between brutal riffs, mosh friendly sections and groovey breakdowns.
The production is pleasantly polished and modern, the guitar sound is great and the drums sound amazing too, from the double bass, to the snare, to the cymbals. The vocals are powerful and thundering, everything is perfect.
A perfect mixture of grindcore, brutal death metal and hardcore.
One of their best releases if not the best
