Truth be told, I was not a big fan of the Matt Skiba era of Blink back in 2016, and this is coming from someone who is a die hard Alkaline Trio fan. Heavily inspired by bands like The Police, The Jam, and U2 just to name a few, Long Beach own Maxeen delivers a pretty solid record that sounds like a mixture of 80s new wave and 2000s pop punk tone. While the songwriting is pretty much one noted, some tracks here can be something you can definitely bop to such as Please (Burnout 3 anyone?), Love Goes A Long Way, Soleil, and Good Enough are highlights for me. A fun spin.
You know your album isn't going to be good when someone has to form a record label just to release your music. A band I remember from the good old Tony Hawk days, but shows proof that not every song/artist from the series is good. Quite the contrary, it can be rather obnoxious, annoying, and worst of all, heinous to listen to.
