I mean let’s be honest, this is not many people’s favorite album, (most likely due to the low level of effort put into this era) but it is still a Grammy AOTY nominee and has some really solid hits. This album is one of Swift’s least confined in sound. There is not a very cohesive vibe throughout listening to this album, it is very reminiscent of the complexity of red for me. Her cheesiness in some songs here just lose me more than they do in her past works. This isn’t ... read more
This album is such an awesome vibe. It’s easy listening with some amazing production and some of Miley’s finest performances. Honestly, this is my current favorite project from Miley. I think there are definitely a few weak songs and even a total miss with ‘Wonder Woman,’ but this album still manages to be a solid art piece and it just sounds so, so good. Such a fun album, even though she is exploring life after her divorce. I was surprised by its Grammys nominations but ... read more
Honestly this is Billie’s best album and I really wonder how she could ever top this. The cohesion and theming is spectacular and we hear her exactly how we have been wanting to: in her element. I often wonder if her lyrics are deep or just don’t make sense. That is my only issue with a small portion of this album; its clarity. The usage of the melody of THE GREATEST used in SKINNY and BLUE through violin is a super cool addition. I think CHIHIRO is possibly her best song ever and I ... read more
This is such an exceptional album and Charli XCX deserves all the success and acclaim. The whole album has such a distinct theme (obviously), but not just in aesthetic, lyrically too. The vulnerability in this album is so raw and relatable, and the sounds are just perfect at every corner. This album changed the culture and completely deserved its nomination for album of the year. May we forever remember brat summer and the power that good art has on community. There is nothing bad to say about ... read more
This is a pretty solid addition to Rodrigo’s second album. They offer more context to what she’s been dealing with in her life and I think it has value. I am super excited to see what comes next for Ms. Rodrigo.
I honestly kinda root for Carly Rae Jepsen. I think what she did with The Loneliest and Loveliest Time was super fun and original. I think I prefer this one, but the other album is the better one. This is like the evermore in a way. Some of my favorite Carly songs are on here, and overall it’s just a nice vibe.
I think Remi Wolf really stepped up her game right here. From Cinderella, I was immediately hooked and a fan of the direction. The music in here is also absolutely nuts! There is a huge show of growth and maturity found in these lyrics too. The experiences and emotions are real, and for that reason, this record deserves a listen.
Honestly I believe this to be Gracie’s best work and shows promise for a great future. The story of this album is one you can actually follow and feel so much of what she is saying. She is truly such a great songwriter and I will defend her against those who wanna call my girl a khia! But in all seriousness, this is pretty good, and if you’re experiencing a break up, this a a solid album to turn to.
I understand that there is only one deluxe track, and that it’s a remix of a track from the original album, but I believe Kendrick Lamar sends this song straight to a 100. It’s straight fire and somehow incredibly more impactful than Bad Blood without Kendrick.
I really love this album even though it’s not her biggest in terms of popularity because of the return to nature theme. Kacey opens up about her fears in a very normal and relatable way. I think this album creates a space for grounding. Tied in the grass on a windy day. Totally feels healthy and calm. I appreciate the effort thematically and there are some great songs on here too.
Honestly this deluxe edition is just good. Better than decent, but not great. I still think it’s a fun listen but there isn’t the depth that paired so well with the production we hear in the original album. Still a super fun time!
This album is so much fun and I love the soundscape as well as the aesthetic that the music, as well as the album cover, provide. Lyrically, this project is sorta weak, but there is a hint of trueness and depth inside his voice that you can’t help but believe there is meaning. Saw them in concert and had an absolute blast, really helped me put them as an artist into perspective. I really like their vision and I hope to see some growth and refinement in their next project. Solid debut ... read more
This album is exceptional honestly. She really did her big one here. The SHAWN MENDES hate is here and clear, and I live for it. Shady work Sabrina, I stan! But seriously, this album has some awesome cohesion lyrically, as well as an absolutely perfect sound that really staples Sabrina as an artist and shows off her pure talent. Definitely deserved the AOTY nomination. Strong contender, that’s for sure. The massive hits this album produced is insane. Totally in awe of her as a star right ... read more
I think this double album, part two, whatever you call it, anthology, has some solid tracks from Swift. I think a common theme in all 31 tracks is a lack of interesting or exciting production. The writing is some of her absolute best, and honestly feels more like poetry than song. These 15 tracks are choppy in, not only in sound, but in topic too. These songs feel like the kind of material Taylor thinks up when she’s out of ideas. However, it’s still Taylor Swift, just not at her ... read more
This review is for the four bonus tracks that came with the deluxe edition. I found them to be some of Gracie’s weaker songs and I wasn’t necessary blown away by the lyrics. However, I love Gracie, I love her voice, her aesthetic, and her sound. For that, I do find these songs decent.
This review is of the deluxe edition of folklore that contains one bonus track. I truly feel like this additional song further cements Swift’s ability to put beauty into sound. The delicate touch of Swift in her art is something so smooth and you feel comforted by it. Here, it is done to excellency as we wrap up the journey with “The Lakes.”
This album is a bit of a sleeper agent. There’s some really solid concepts going on, and Suki has a unique flare to her when it comes to singing. While I do find the album to be a bit all over the place sonically, there is somehow still a specific sound to the album, which I can always appreciate. I thought 18 tracks was a mistake but it may be what saves it. Overall, I think this album is pretty good, showing off Suki’s personality and leaving a solid impression.
This album is excellent. It’s GRAMMY AOTY worthy and I hope it gets nominated. The themes of sexuality and a deeper understanding of one’s mind draw the listener in for a unique experience. The practice of EUSEXUA is astonishing and proves twigs to be a genius. Absolute perfection with the cohesion of this album. A full story told in a beautiful way that highlights the never-ending journey of life and self-discovery. Twigs knows what she is, and more importantly, what she wants.
This album is so original and an absolute great time. Caroline Polachek is here to stay, she is our visionary. Ya heard!
