Complicated feelings towards a long-distance boyfriend, hunger for the heat in the thick air of a drug-fueled nightclub, and loud, rave-inspired production reinvent Charli XCX.
From the opening track, pink diamond, we get blasted by the intensity of this record. On first listen, it is so abrasive that you don't even think you like it. However, after those two minutes (which felt a lot longer), you get introduced to track 2, forever. The second track is always hinting at a major theme of ... read more
I loved this era for Kacey, even if it isn't my favorite album of hers, because she made a short film for this concept album, and really went the extra mile for the theatrics. This feels like her attempt to stay ambiguous in country and pop, but that may be its downfall as well.

Was expecting something profound, ended up getting squirted on by Robyn. Only kinda liked it.

Love to see an artist get a well-deserved audience.
Melanie Martinez is letting us know to fuck while we still can, y'all. Text him.
Throughout this very 2019 pop album, we get a light insight into Camila's romance, as promised, but that includes the one that came before Shawn Mendes.
The main takeaway is her advancement in production and melody, which was sometimes lacking in Camila.
When I was 17/18, listening to the album, thinking about my high school online boyfriend, all of this sounded very, very deep. Now, I have love for it, but it feels like that immature relationship.

If you're expecting to understand what BØRNS means by "Blue Madonna," don't get your hopes up. What you can expect is two Lana features, a couple of great songs, and an overall good feeling energy. There is a lack of lyrical depth throughout this album, and the singer seems to victimize himself a little too often for my comfort. It comes off as insecure and needy, but when you're feeling like a terrible person who wants to convince himself (because I don't ... read more
Reputation by Taylor Swift is deeply misunderstood and consistently disregarded when, in all actuality, it serves as her most tender and vulnerable insight into her most significant relationship to date. While many get lost in the theatrics and bad girl persona that was sold in songs like I Did Something Bad, Look What You Made Me Do, and This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, the deep, personal entries are ignored even though they deliver diary-level thoughts from Swift. 1989 gave us a ... read more
Quite an impressive debut album. I've loved Kacey since Golden Hour, and have even checked out every album of hers besides this one, so it's nice to know that she's always been a hit. This is the kind of country music I can get down with.
The bonus tracks are no bueno. The best version of this album is the original 11 tracks.
2018 pop was minimalistic in production and did not provide a ton of hits. This album struggles with this issue, but still managed to produce two major hits and give Camila that leg up on her solo debut.
Sooo this was pretty epic, also my first time listening to underscores. I feel like even though it's a relatively short album, I just consumed so much that it's going to take a second listen and probably a re-rate, but for now, I think this album is exciting and danceable!
Sophie is a standout track on this album. Femme Hysteria was great as well. This is a pretty good debut album with a lot of solid, danceable songs. Give my number to whoever that hottie is on the cover!
Listened to this because popcamsam told me to!
