Good vocals, good instrumentals (few exceptions), pretty good lyrics. Another Stevie album down
Favourite: Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away
Worst: Creepin'
Another Stevie album down, same old same old, good vocals and pretty good instrumentals. Lyrics are questionable at times but they're also good it just doesnt stand out as much as some of his other albums
Favourite: Anything you want me to do
Worst: I gotta have a song
Stevie Wonder's vocals on this album are amazing. He went on a run of amazing albums during this time.
Favourite: Lookin' For Another Pure Love, Superstition, I believe
Worst: Maybe Your Baby
Emiliana Torrini had some pretty good vocals and made every song she was on enjoyable. Although most of the album is mid, there's some pretty high peaks, such as the song Transmission 3. There's a lot of filler on the album, just like the other Kid Koala album I listened to.
Favourite: Transmission 3
Worst: The Observable Universe
Apart from a few good tracks, the album does nothing for me. SO much filler
Favourite: Fender Bender & Temple of Gloom
Worst: Nerdball
'She the performer and my dick the mic (yuh)
This dick her kryptonite, I got her dickmatized (yeah, yeah)'
Those two lines pretty much sum up the album. Beats are doing too much, and Ken Carson's rapping is ass.
Best: Blakk Rokkstar
Worst: Naked
Well, it's no Imaginal Disc, but it's still a solid album with the recognizable Magdalena Bay sound that I love so much.
Favourite: Wandering Eyes
Worst: Slug Song
The album that came before Imaginal Disc , I can certainly see how this sound developed into one of my favourite albums of all time. Started off unbelievably strong and dropped off towards the end. The instrumentals are so dreamy at times and the singing matches with the production perfectly.
Favourite: Mercurial World
Worst: Follow The Leader
Pretty solid album. Aesop Rock showcases his lyricism by spamming words on pretty good beats.
Favourite: Daylight
Worst: Beat Life
4th CunningLynguists album down. I saw someone mention this sounds like Eminem at times, and I couldn't agree more. Songs are either great or mid and of course the beats are good as usual but a step down from the other CunninLynguists albums I've listened to. I think the first half of the album was much stronger than the end.
Favourite: Love Ain't & Rain
Worst: Nasty Filthy
Continuing to listen to Black Thoughts work outside of The Roots, solid album and solid production
Favourite: Hollow Way
Worst: Glorious Game
Second CunninLynuists album down✌️
Favourite: Missing Children
Worst: Not Guilty
Not as good as II or III but still very good. The 2nd half was very strong in my opinion
Favoruite: FACE
Worst: 2PAC
Not as good as Saturation III but can't complain, bit inconsistent once again
Favourite: SUMMER
Worst: GAMBA
Lots of songs were either hit or miss but it was very enjoyable and had some very high peaks.
Favourite: BOOGIE
Worst: Liquid
I thought I was bout to get some Memphis rap listening to the opening track, and then on the very next song I hear Andre 3000 talking. Pretty consistent other than 1 or 2 flops but i feel like even the flops are overhated. Cant go wrong with andre 3k
Favourite: follow the light
worst: what iz rap?
Have nothing negative to say about this album at all. I have been listening to head.rap since release and have been very excited for this album to drop. No I.D. is a genius and it really shows when you listen to this album.
Favourite: Crash
Worst: Reciprocity
Aspects of jazz and rock in the album. The beats are decent but it just gets boring at times. He should've done more rapping.
Favourite: Sunshine
Worst: Freaky Black Greetings
