Maladroit is like schrodinger's weezer; both overrated and underrated at the same time. While the fans gave a 180 so hard it would make a boeing plane blush, the general audience still treats this album as if it were gonna give you scabies in your bum.
All in all, it's one of the better albums of weezer's earlier leg, but honestly? It's also very reminiscent of the era it was made of, not really feeling as timeless as the Blue album or as fresh as albums like White.

I can see Take Care's charm, genuinely, it's just not for me.
It is a classic, and a genuine time-capsule of the era it was made (in a good way, as it's probably one of the better examples of the era, too). It's soul-chopped samples bathed in that moody-aesthetic gave the album its own unique voice in a post-Kanye era and Drake's singing, even though I am not a fan of it, it's fairly unique.
I can see the value, but I am just not interested in the subject ... read more
man, i dunno if i should add to the pile. We all know what happened and whatever I say has been said and repeated ten thousand times, but you really did spit on everything you built in the last few years, in your audience and - most importantly - the people who loved you the most, Brad.
I won't call you a piece of shit, even though you really deserve it, but I won't suck you off. I remember finding your channel at 16 and falling in love with it. Genuinely your videos about MCR, ... read more
y'all haters, this is the best time capsule of the nineties ever put in tape.
also has the greatest weezer b side. fuck you and goodnight
one of my favourite albums ever.
whenever i feel like crying, whenever i feel lost, i have this album.
i love daredevil but this movie ain't it and this ost is the most trite 2000's thing you could ever listen.
and i lowkey love it for that?
One of the best pop songs ever made.
Paints an icredibly vivid image of 22, that weird era in young adulthood where everything feels confusing and purpose less, where nihilism feels so easy to drown into.
"22, psycho for sex and glue" really encapsulates the whole feeling of the album.
Beyond the phenomenal lyricism, the track below it is a fantastic, catchy tune with a lot of energy.
Listened to this on release, yet forgot to write a review.
Genuinely adore this album, it's the peak of british engineering!
On a serious note, this is the portrait of a man at the verge of losing it. While I am saddened by Isaac leaving the band, I hope nothing but healing comes his way.
The band's penchant for melodrama creates this larger than life canvas in which Isaac and co explore heartbreak, emotional dependency and mental health.
"The place where he inserted the ... read more
"laughing song" is genuinely one of the most heartbreaking things i have ever heard. Holy shit it destroyed me and I have been sobbing to it nearly daily.
Besides that, it's a fantastic record with incredible performances by bcnr. "Up Song" is another highlight for me, it brought me so much happiness after being fired from my job, lol.
This album is a pop-baroque masterpiece that makes me want to get up and create something as pretty as this.
Life, at times, really is a matter of perspective, one you get through experiencing this journey we're all in. It's growth, it's change, it's moving on from the past to build a better future, to find the best version of yourself.
Life is, also, more than the sum of its parts. Depression, anxiety and fear sometimes define the way we move, we act and even the way we love, or the way we avoid being loved.

There's nothing you can say about TPAB that has not been said before. It's trascendental, transformative and a point of rederence for rap in the 21st Century.
Kendrick Lamar's fusion of rap, jazz, funk is incredibly well made. Kendrick's storytelling here is second to none, showcasing an incredible journey from rags to riches, yet not ever really glorifying said success but exploring the negative aspects that come with it: the survivor's guilt, the temptation, the ... read more
literally the goat. love how the enitrety of the sounds explored in the ost relates to a characer and their counterpart.
sonic is melody driven pop punk, while shadow has a heavier guitar led guitar with a bit of an industrial/electronic touches in some instances.
knuckles has rap, while rouge has jazz.
It's a cool contrast that elevates each of the character's repsective personalities.
i love you so much sonic, you are so cool
one of the most gut wrenching rock albums ever and the blueprint for the emo scene sound of the 2000s.
the intense portrait of a failed relationship, substance abuse, loneliness and suicidal thoughts are genuinely relateable and written with so much depth compared to some of the "emo"-esque releases that came afterward. It never feels melodramatic, just super honest and like a dude wearing his heart on his sleeve.
incredible melodies, super solid lyricism and a variety of rock and ... read more
As far as Tyler's releases go, this is probably the least surprising one soundwise since his evolution started in Cherry Bomb but the lack of growth in soundscape is completely put aside by growth as a songwriter, completing his evolution from the kid that rapped about killing his dad to the man rapping about the effects his lack of father had on him.
Even then, his sound has not stagnated, as Tyler moves forward with an entire pallette of sounds, production styles and inspirations. While ... read more
weezer's dnd campaign continued with summer. While the first one felt like this cute, yet simplistic, vivaldi inspired 7 minute ep.
the overall aesthetic was middle earth inspired elves singing about angels, shakespeare, ivanhoe and love. While a bit repetitive, it was an insaley cohesive, personality filled ep that highlighted the nerdier side of weezer -for better and worse- while it's not a record i come back often, i do appreciate the commitment the band had following an ... read more
really CANNOT with these LA Girlz, fr.
On a serious note, a fantastic pop rock record and, in my opnion, one of (if not the) best of last decade. It looks back on weezer's history while never feeling pandering. It's fun, catchy, surprisingly cohesive and consistent (a new one for that era of weezer). It feels like the album weezer should have done after Pinkerton instead of that mid-life identity crisis (filled to the brim with brilliance and horror) that we got in the mid 2000s.

Weezer's Green Album is -at times- like an old man: sterile and hell bent on reliving the past, that said, like a nice old man, it is sometimes pleasant to be around it until you start noticing how repetitive the interaction can be.
In the end, it makes you feel nice inside at times, a tad nostalgic and happy. At others, the quirks start showing themselves more and you realize that it is repetitive and boring.
Be kind to your elders, also be kinder to this album.

genuinely love the album, while i miss the more conceptual Kendrick Lamar, it is a much needed, much deserved victory lap from one of the best rappers of all time.
this is kendrick's crash out, and he's tripping and loving it. From the imposing strings and angry delivery on "wacced out murals" to the spiritual and intense "reincarnated", to the sensual and lush "luther" and the head boppers that are "squabble up", "tv off" and ... read more
