Definitely showed potential for 21 Savage and while ISSA is not a perfect release, it's definitely one of 21's most important ones and it also offers some really fun songs. Especially the production and how 21 delivered on these beats stood out at that time. Nowadays I consider 21 one of the best modern rap voices and really enjoy most of his releases. This album right here has some chill vibes, a few skips too, but overall it's decent and absolutely enjoyable. Favourite songs of ... read more
Little Re-Review: GNX is a record that I am still not fully cool with even after giving it its time and thinking that it would maybe grow on me one day. There's like 50% of this record that I absolutely love and another 50% that's just not my thing.
A track like man at the garden was where it finally connected for me. That deep, personal Kendrick came through, the version of him I’ve always appreciated the most. Along with songs like heart pt.6 and gloria, these were the ... read more
A pretty well made record with a few skips here and there. Cole sounded confident and the whole album sounds pretty well produced for its time of release. I don't think it's anywhere near his best or most creative work, but it did show potential for future releases and you could tell that Cole really wants to be one of the bigger fish in the hip hop sea, especially when looking at these features from music titans like Jay-Z, Drake, Trey Songz and Missy Elliott. On this album you ... read more
Freddie Gibbs never fails to sound badass and this small EP is honestly really good. 3 tracks which are all banging. If this leads up to an album, I could definitely see one of Freddie's best records to come out soon.
Got this album recommended by @Nagi111910 - Thanks for that!!
The album sounds pretty smooth and the performance seems very confident and well done on most of these songs. I will say that it's not exactly my cup of tea since it's also something new and I haven't checked out Japanese music much before. But hearing this I could definitely see what people enjoy here, even the ones who may not understand the lyrics. This is a pretty well produced album. I could see myself going ... read more
Instrumentals hit really well on this EP, Central Cee‘s performance was mostly fine. Songs like DC10, ICEMAN FREESTYLE & Y FI DAT were the absolute highlights here! Decent EP, definitely worth a listen if you enjoyed Central Cee‘s music before. Maybe 2 skips: SLAUGHTER & MAKA
That's What They All Say was a decent album at the time of release, but going back to it, it doesn't hit much anymore. A few cuts on this album like Rendezvous, Keep It Light, Same Guy or 21C/Delta were really good, but others just fall a bit flat like Face Of My City or Route 66. Just kind of feels like Lil Baby and EST Gee didn't have much chemistry with Jack on these songs. Overall a chill album, but it does have a few skippable tracks and doesn't impress as much as it ... read more
Gazebo was always a solid Mixtape in my opinion. I enjoyed the overall production on most of these songs a lot and I think Jack Harlow really had a creative mind back in 2017! He delivered a good amount of tracks with different energies and vibes. Really refreshing record in his catalog and I just got back to it today. I remember Used to Be & Eastern Parkway being heavy in my rotation in 2018-2019.
Come Home The Kids Miss You has a bunch of cool tracks, but also a few that may be a bit uninteresting. For me Jack Harlow did really well with his beat selection on this album and he also chose some great features. He's been an artist for quite some time at the point of this release and it definitely shows in his flows and performance on some of these beats. I think he was just a bit too comfortable with his hype around this time and I think thats what made him go into a bit of a poppy or ... read more
Well, what I thought would be a decent album, actually turned out to be a messy one with some very mid performances. The instrumentals and the whole work on the production are still top tier to say the least. I just need JPEGMAFIA to release instrumental projects and stay away from the microphone, 'cause in my opinion, he just don't got it like that.
Checked this out a few years ago and didn't think it was too great or outstanding, but it still offered some nice vibes and interesting performances + instrumentals. I think early Jack Harlow had a really special vibe and he really did his thing, but some tracks just lacked consistency and creativity sometimes. This Mixtape right here is still pretty nice and I would recommend it for everyone to check it out for themselves and see if they like it.
Suffering From Success was actually an album I have listened to a lot back then. It offered a few really good performances by rappers like Future, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne or even J. Cole. I think that this right here is one of Khaled's best records he had ever put together. For 2013 most of these instrumentals sound very ahead of their time and the energy is really good on this album. Some of my favourites were; Suffering From Success, I Feel Like Pac / I Feel Like Biggie, No ... read more
Some great cuts on GOD DID, but still not a perfectly shaped out record. It does have some amazing parts by rap giants like Jay-Z, Wayne, Kanye, Eminem and Drake. Especially the songs GOD DID, WAY PAST LUCK, NO SECRET, GRATEFUL & IT AIN'T SAFE were some really strong tracks on this album. Most instrumentals are really cool, for example on PARTY or FAM GOOD, WE GOOD, but they lack great performance and end up sounding a bit wasted. My favourites include: GOD DID, NO SECRET, LET'S ... read more
HABIBTI is my favourite out of the 3 albums we just received and I lowkey knew it's gonna be just from the first half already. It's no secret that I enjoy the RNB and Singing Drake a bit more than the pure rapping Drake and on HABIBTI he delivered a really nice collection of songs that remind me of 'SSS4U' or an early 'Take Care' Drake. I absolutely loved his vocal performance on this thing and loved the whole late night vibe of this album. This is exactly what I ... read more
ICEMAN serves with some crazy production choices and a Drake that sounds very energetic and knows exactly what he wants to do. He knows exactly what he wants to say, how he wants to deliver and a lot of the hidden disses and shots against other rappers/artists were performed perfectly. I am more a fan of the laid back sounding beats e.g. Make Them Cry, National Treasure & B's On The Table. Especially that 21 savage feature is what I really needed. Them both together sound so good on ... read more
Some pretty nice vibes on this album and something that reminds me of Honestly, Nevermind. It doesn't offer too much, but it does what it wants to do and that is bringing dancehall energy. Overall probably the worst out of the 3 records we have received yesterday, but still a nice and enjoyable listen for me and a few songs made it into my playlist. Probably will re-visit this a couple of times.
Kettama's best song to date. I am glad he collabed with Real Lies!
Some great cuts, some meh ones too. I think Kodak had a nice vocal performance but a few of these beats and instrumentals are a bit boring and don't do too much. Still a chill Mixtape with some gems for the Kodak fans.
