I underrated the hell out of this thing when it first dropped. Shit is gas
Sum 41 really is a metal band.
This album fully displays how much more natural and comfortable they sound in that genre. I really like the double album of their two main sounds to end their career, and I'm glad they did it, but the second half is SO much better than the first. And with a surprisingly good cover of Paint It, Black to boot. Nice job guys. Gonna miss ya.
Yeah, it's real bad. To be honest, I didn't absolutely despise the first couple tracks- they definitely weren't good, but they didn't really offend me. But that feeling ended pretty quick. Trippie's vocals suck ass throughout this entire project, mgk is obviously cringe as hell (and his vocals also suck ass lmao) and GOD these lyrics are terrible. Only a couple decent moments in tracks 1 and 2 are giving this project any points at all. Don't waste your time on this like I did.
a tiny bit overhated, but a lot of it is warranted. a few moments in the first four tracks were really cool but it just decided to stop being interesting after that. the genre fusions are done in an incredibly boring and unflattering way. not great
edit: 40 -> 30: the more I think about this thing, the worse I feel about it. it's genuinely just so surface level and shallow.
It is a period of civil wars in the galaxy. A brave alliance of underground freedom fighters has challenged the tyranny and oppression of the awesome GALACTIC LEAN.
Striking from a fortress hidden among the billion stars of the galaxy, rebel spaceships have won their first victory in a battle with the powerful Imperial Starfleet. The LEAN fears that another defeat could bring a thousand more solar systems into the rebellion, and Imperial control over the galaxy would be lost forever.

the vibe captured by this album is like no other. it's not my favorite thing I've ever heard, but there are some stunners here that make me excited to keep exploring the band's discography
Didn't take long to get the first great album of the year. I love everything about this sound, this songwriting, these performances, everything is just top notch. Incredible achievement.
edit: This project is next level. One of my favorite records of the decade. Hopefully that's not just recency bias haha
2024's off to a pretty good start!! This record has catchy songwriting, beautiful production, and a lot of life, and I enjoyed it a lot. Some of the songs in the second half were a bit more forgettable for me, but I still had a great time with this, and I think I'll definitely revisit it in the future!
after listening to drumless give life back to music and get lucky I had to go back to the originals to cleanse myself jesus why did you do this
like seriously even the intro to GLBTM just sounds so empty what is the point of this
Sweet Sounds of Heaven alone makes this record great- also helps that the songwriting across the whole thing is pretty consistently solid. Very pleasant surprise, long live rock and roll baby
Sure, the songwriting doesn't hit all the time, and the production may be kind of ass sometimes, but this is a really heartwarming and nostalgic project that we never thought we'd see. There's a big selection of great pop punk songs here, enough for the album to not be written off. Surprisingly solid, and I'm so glad these guys got to jam together again. <3
forgot to rate it when it dropped lol yeah it's amazing
edit: 80 -> 90 guys it's actually so good I haven't stopped listening to it since drop
