I didn't expect this album to be so modern and (partially) experimental, very fun project with the occasional miss
Album #300
A great 300th album, incredible nocturnal vibes and absolutely stunning vocals by Beth Gibbons.
@iriz
Thanks for the rec even though you have already left this site!
Strawberry jam is a strange yet beautiful journey. The psychedelic production sounds like a big old machine producing tunes and I love the screaming and generalky weird vocals over the instrumentals, it hits a soft spot in my heart
Very cool and energetic garage rock, that kind of looses itself in the middle
Very much style over substance. If it weren't for the online music communities trying to make this the next big and culturally impactful moment in pop , I would dismiss it as solid club-music, which, actually, wouldn't be dismissive, as that's exactly what this album is.
Edit: nvm this shit slaps, my review sucks
Super smooth album with crisp production and an insanely strong middle part. There are aome forgettable moments tho, especially at the end
Nah this isn't a comeback.
It's so obvious that the making of this album was chaotic as hell. So many short and unfinisjed tracks, a bunch of bad production choices and especially the bad mixing keep ot far from the album it coul've been.
Howecer there are a bunch of great tracks and a lot of cool ideas, that make this album still somewhat worth a listen.
Only somewhat tho, the album's just too much of a mess overall
I honestly like the production a lot and the industrial influences are pretty cool too
A cool futuristic trip which shines most in it's rare soft and melodic parts
Edit: grew off me quickly
I love the use of strings in this album, it creates together with Alex Turner's voice and the softly played guitars a very dreamy vibe
Absolutely beautiful album, it was great so see all of these artists come together
It's really basic and uninspired Bruno Mars music, but even at it's most uninteresting it's still kinda good, because the formula just works. Could be muuuch better tho with more dense production and more interesting songwriting.
Recently I really just wanted to listen to some good R&B and this album definitely fulfilled my desire with it's crisp production and good vocals, however after re-listening it becomes clear that it doesn't have to offer a whole lot more than that.
