I enjoy how fusq consistently balances the cutesy elements in their music, and their debut EP elevates that groove in a really solid way. Such bright piano and crunchy basslines make for a really easygoing background listening experience here :>

I-O-U. I can't just do it.
I just started getting into underscores after she had a standout collab with Danny Brown on his “Stardust” album last year, and the singles from this project have drawn me even further into her work. "Do It" sounds like a full-blown dance anthem of the decade when it is powered by infectious rhythms and ecstatic vocals, making it the strongest performance in the album for me. Then there's "Music", a track that goes around the ... read more
There's an amalgam of overwhelming and underwhelming chaos packed into under 25 minutes, yet "Beautiful Disaster" ultimately presents itself as a boldly unapologetic and maximalist take on Electroclash scene. While the dreamier sections in the latter half don't quite pull me in, they still add a certain charm to an already over-the-top listen.

The bright, cozy synth tones carry much of the appeal here when they makes up a pretty smooth and laid-back vibe from start to finish. That said, I do think this record works better as playful background music rather than something that demands your full attention. It is enjoyable within its lane, but I just don't see myself coming back to often.

𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓: doesn't matter
A somewhat organic dubstep moment with some chunky sound design, though the overall experience just doesn't hit me enough.

Just a solid, crunchy Bass cut that keeps things firmly grounded.

Almost two years after its first appearance, "The weight of the world" by the California-based producer Syzy still pushes Riddim far beyond its conventional and often ... read more
I was a huge fan of Nostalgix's 2024 EP "Star City" on the same label, but this debut album feels like a downgrade. It gets bogged down by weak and questionable production choices even if there’s a decent foundation underneath, and honestly there’s barely anything here that really sticks with me on repeat.
𝐅𝐀𝐕: Holy
𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓: Miss You
An impressive three-track collection that blends classic Brostep sound with more modern, intricate sound design, though in some capacity it feels a bit over the place.

Who the hell is this slayr dude? And why does he make such peak music?
Not gonna lie, I didn't know anything about him beforehand. The main reason I gave this record a listen was because of how badass the cover looks (lowkey the same situation I had with Revengeseekerz). And yeah, I'm not making this up. It's genuinely a fascinating cover, with slayr drawing inspiration from Greek mythology. He’s clearly invested in the topic, often spending time learning about it and ... read more

Even though Sharks no longer focuses on his melodic Color Bass style, he still has a kind of secret sauce that lets him deliver banger after banger, and this EP just proves it. The thick, crunchy sound design is so exceptional, pairing well with the more atmospheric moments across the project (some final minutes in Burn Under My Skin as an example). The tracklist also doesn't feel stretched out or stuck in the same lane. Instead, it is packed with sharp, crushing execution and a ... read more
Sharks turns over a new leaf with a heavier Riddim-focused approach after his temporary hiatus, and this EP serves as a strong introduction to the sound he's been exploring. The first half goes all in with screechy, high-octane Riddim bangers, while the second half brings back some of the melodic flavor from his previous works. The way Sharks reuses elements of past tracks for the track "close your eyes and dance" just feels like an mesmerizing trip back to his vivid, bubbly ... read more
Sublab’s debut album aims to bring something fresh and distinct to the table, but sonically ends up feeling disoriented. There are a sprinkling of promising ideas here, but their directionless and underwhelming execution waters down much of the experience for me. The hazy, atmospheric theming shows some promise in places, yet it's far from being a saving grace.
𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐒: Riddle, Bit Love
𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓: Mystic Tale
Without a doubt, this is still his strongest EP ever since I first discovered his music. Its relaxing tone beautifully pairs with sweet vocals and shimmering synth work, and the ear candies in each track is just so captivating. In just 12 minutes, this record hits exactly where it needs to.
𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐒: Always, Baby, Kaleidoscope (Me&U)

Azaleh & Stasys collide for an amazingly delicate IDM experience that feels lush and refreshingly self-contained. The production drifts through soft environmental textures, constantly shifting rhythms, and minimalistic yet chunky instrumental patterns that give the whole project a really subtle edge. Even with no groundbreaking moments, the atmosphere is clean and immersive that it barely matters.
𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐒: Verdant, Lotus Field
𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓: Boreal Pulse
Except for the fact that it's an "album" with 710402292 sped-up and slowed remixes of the main four tracks, this is a fun project to try out. I'm not a huge fan of Jumpstyle and its other variations, but what RomancePlanet executed here is actually pretty amusing.
