This is another contender for my favourite Pink Floyd Album, although I still think Meddle takes the cake for me. This album is an absolute masterpiece, as is usual for Pink Floyd during the 70s. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (the whole suite) holds a special place in my heart and the rest of the album is also really well done.
My favourite track from this album is the first half of the Shine On suite (parts 1-5), with the following parts 6-9 coming in close second. My least favourite track is ... read more
Its good. I personally think that Dogs, whilst still really amazing, is a little overrated in my opinion. I do think it has their best chord progression but I personally think that Sheep is a better track that I dont hear talked about NEARLY as much as Dogs is. Come on people. Amazing instrumentation from all of the people involved and I think it starts the transition from the more proggy ... read more
For me this isnt even a choice. This IS my favourite Pink Floyd album. I think its absolutely perfect from front to back and Echoes is my favourite song EVER. The whole album is a MUST LISTEN in my opinion and is the peak of Pink Floyd's artistry, with Atom Heart Mother coming in close second.
My favourite track from this album is obviously Echoes and my least favourite is Seamus, but even that isnt bad. Absolutely impeccable album.
Track Ranking:
1. Echoes - 1000/10
2. San Tropez (I ... read more
This is my personal favourite album from Genesis as of now. I am absolutely in love with it. Its a real shame that this is the last Genesis album to feature Peter Gabriel as I really do think he gave Genesis a unique touch that they lost after he left the band. Its just an amazing album.
My favourite track from this album is In The Cage. Its just awesome in many ways. ... read more
I was very pleasently suprised when I listened to this album for the first time today. I did not expect a full orchestra although in retrospect it does say it on the cover. I think this album is really REALLY nice. I am a big fan of the original sound that the Moody Blues were able to conjure up here, and I also like how progressive this album is for an album released in 1967. I would consider THIS album to be the starting point of progressive rock as it is. I was also pleasently suprised to ... read more
