Where do I even begin with this album?
The first thing I really noticed on my first listen was just how unique and original it sounded. I had previously been really exploring things close to my tastes and genre preferences so hearing something totally different from anything I’ve heard really made it stick. It made it very much memorable. Maybe I’m just uncultured and there are other projects/genres that sound very similar to Getting Killed, but I haven’t found any.

I've heard the previous 2 albums already and I can confidently say this is their best work so far. The one problem I had with the others is the fact that every single song sounded the exact same. That's not really the case for Linger. Sure, all the songs have the same emotional vibe, but that's what an album SHOULD do. Each song actually feels like a new and different musical idea from anything else. I don't know why people are hating, it's a good album.
It's a really great and beautiful album. Very warm and soft. I do feel like a lot of the songs sounded the same though. Like the artists didnt know what drums to add on top of the riff they created, so they just put every idea into one album. It doesn't matter though. It's still a great listen.
I've always been, and will probably always be, someone who cares much more about the sound of songs and not the lyrics or meaning. This album, and Godspeed You in general, are absolute masters at creating great sound, to the point where there's no lyrics. And I find it so cool to see so many other people celebrate and praise albums like these, so many people side with the fact that music doesn't need meaning. I think we should just let the melody sink in and stay in the moment.
Man, I just dont get it. Sure, it has some good moments. But 80% of the time there's literally nothing. It's the most boring thing Ive ever heard.
