I've heard the previous 2 albums already and I can confidently say this is their best work so far. The one problem I had with the others is the fact that every single song sounded the exact same. That's not really the case for Linger. Sure, all the songs have the same emotional vibe, but that's what an album SHOULD do. Each song actually feels like a new and different musical idea from anything else. I don't know why people are hating, it's a good album.
Where do I even begin with this album?
The first thing I really noticed on my first listen was just how unique and original it sounded. I had previously been really exploring things close to my tastes and genre preferences so hearing something totally different from anything I’ve heard really made it stick. It made it very much memorable. Maybe I’m just uncultured and there are other projects/genres that sound very similar to Getting Killed, but I haven’t found any.

It's a really great and beautiful album. Very warm and soft. I do feel like a lot of the songs sounded the same though. Like the artists didnt know what drums to add on top of the riff they created, so they just put every idea into one album. It doesn't matter though. It's still a great listen.
I've always been, and will probably always be, someone who cares much more about the sound of songs and not the lyrics or meaning. This album, and Godspeed You in general, are absolute masters at creating great sound, to the point where there's no lyrics. And I find it so cool to see so many other people celebrate and praise albums like these, so many people side with the fact that music doesn't need meaning. I think we should just let the melody sink in and stay in the moment.
Man, I just dont get it. Sure, it has some good moments. But 80% of the time there's literally nothing. It's the most boring thing Ive ever heard.
While I dont connect with these songs on a deep level like others. It's definitely a great alt rock album. And I mean Alt Rock as in, the kind that leads more towards grunge, hard rock, and anything else near those. Not the atmospheric beauty with stuff like OK Computer.
Though not as sprawling and epic as some of the other albums. Its trying to be fun. Whether you want that, or not. Definitely understand that if you come into it. Personally I had come in expecting another OK Computer and ... read more
"The darker cousin of Kid A" Some might say. I say not. Sure it has the same idea that the songs and themes are super abstract and experimental. But Kid A is far more electronic. To me Amnesiac feels much more like a Radiohead-esque album. Songs like Pyramid Song, Knives Out, and Dollars & Cents feel much more closer to OK Computer and In Rainbows than the cold and otherworldly sound of Kid A. And that's definitely not a bad thing. I actually quite enjoy that. While this ... read more
I hear lots of people say this is frontloaded "Only the first 5 songs are good." I dont know what they're on. There are other bangers on the album. Yeah, the first 5 may be the best, but the rest are still great. They're fun, alt rock bangers. And Everything Will Be Alright is great. Why the yellow score? I dont know. To me it seems these people just randomly started fully zoning out after All These Things That I've Done, and made it a reason to hate on The Killers. ... read more
No... Why? How the hell is every single fucking second, all 5250 of them, how is it all the literal greatest and most beautiful thing I've ever heard in my entire life? How?
Yeah, it doesnt sound exactly like Deathconsciousness. But isnt that a good thing? They're changing up their music, trying new stuff. Even then, Stuff like Lords of Tresserhorn feel like that post-punk depression everyone loves. To me, really only Dracula Bells and Trespassers W feel like pretty different genres. And those were maybe some of my least favourite tracks on the record (still pretty good and fun though). Like many, I enjoy the super beauitful and mourningful songs Have A Nice ... read more
In the deepest parts of Heaven and Hell exists a door that leads to the end of everything, nothing.
It is there, this thing will find you.
I usually dont care about live albums. I dont know why there are some that people care for some much, it's literally just eh exact same thing as the original, so there's nothing new to praise the live version for adding. But with I Might Be Wrong, I might actually be wrong. I had heard the True Love Waits version and actually realized this album was worth listening to because I was gonna get some different renditions and ideas for a couple Radiohead songs. Now, True Love Waits is ... read more
Like with OKNOTOK, this is a must listen for fans of In Rainbows. Tracks like Last Flowers, Bangers + Mash, and 4 Minute Warning definitely sound like In Rainbows and pass the check of being bangers keeping the theme of In Rainbows being the most consistent Radiohead album.
