Not as strong as SAWAYAMA in my opinion but still an incredible record. Many amazing tracks on this album though I feel like the last 3-4 tracks really dull out after hearing so many heavy hitting tracks up to that point.
The fact that she manages to tackle multiple genres with each track sounding unique is an incredible feat. Very strong debut from Rina.
I love Zella Day and this was definitely a great record but being such a big fan of Kicker going into this album I was a little disappointed by how vastly different this album was from the sound that Kicker had. Nevertheless I can still appreciate what Zella has gone for with the disco feel that Sunday in Heaven brings to the table.
This album deserves so much better. Kicker is a very strong album in my opinion and Zella's voice compliments each song beautifully. I can see how some may think the songs sound generic, but the amount of passion that Zella has put into the album really shows if you truly sit down and listen.
I think Caroline has only gotten better with Desire, but considering Pang is her debut album as a solo artist after Charlift, I think she deserves all the praise in the world. This being a debut album is insane when you consider how beautifully written and put together it is. She honed her craft with Chairlift and other side projects such as Ramona Lisa and graced us with one of the best records of 2019 as a result.
This is by far one of the best albums of 2023. The way she opens the album with Welcome To My Island hits you right in the face with one of the best tracks on the album with each following track just as great as the one that came before it. Caroline's voice is absolutely her greatest asset on this album, and each song is so beautifully performed and produced.
Might be a controversial opinion among Slayyyter fans but I genuinely think that this was her weakest era and I am very happy with the direction she has taken with Troubled Paradise and Starfucker. This project is still great but I think she's only gotten better as an artist since she released this mixtape.
Very very good album and it really showcases her progression as an artist. This feels like Slayyyter's first step in her own direction from her debut album which to me sounded a lot like Ayesha Erotica and other artists. So many tracks on this album are vastly different from the others and I think that's what makes it so great overall.
Everything about this album is great. Definitely one of the best albums of 2023. Every single track is just a hit after hit and each track is just as fun as the last. Tear Me Open feels a bit out of place compared to the pace of the other tracks but this record is amazing nonetheless.
I enjoyed this project a good amount. Some tracks felt lackluster and some of the lyricism was a little off-putting but overall it was solid and probably one of the better albums I've heard so far in 2024.
As much as I love Britney, this absolutely blows the original out of the water (yes I am biased and yes Ethel is mother).
This version brings a whole different feel to Crush. I definitely think the original tops this rendition in terms of sounds but this version gives her voice the opportunity to stand strong.
Mother Cain leaves no crumbs once again.
Really like brutal, good 4 u, and jealousy jealousy. However, the rest of the album is pretty boring and forgettable in my opinion. Even really popular songs like drivers license and deja vu feel like you could forget them in an instant.
This is definitely a step up from SOUR. I really enjoyed the angrier songs from SOUR and GUTS is packed full of them which I very much appreciate.
Hands down the greatest grunge album of all time and I will die on that hill. Everything about Dirt is incredible and this album is absolutely timeless. Was I born when this album released? No. Did it still have the same effect on me as it did on those my age in the 90s? Definitely.
Honestly I did enjoy this record and she scores bonus points for getting Ethel Cain to feature on it. I feel like this album gets more hate than it should.
Ethel Cain simply cannot miss. I love this EP passionately but I have to take a point off because God's Country would be so much better if that Wicca guy wasn't on the track.
