I find the songs getting stuck in my head long after I've put the album down. I love the muddier sound (I find it so funny that they dislike their first album for sounding too clean) and the darker tone the songs take. There's also a lot more variation going on. Between the doom of Five Ten Fiftyfold to the gentleness of Sugar Hiccup, their sound feels more matured and realized than on Garlands.
There is a bit of sameness to the sound of each song but the ones that dare to do something a little different stand out as some of the most interesting songs in the twins’ discography as a whole.
