I love tmbg music videos so much so keep that in mind when I say the mv for this one made me feel like one of those kids who meets mickey mouse at disney world and starts crying in terror
Bloc Party might be the best at making sentimental-leaning songs out of the whole 2000's indie rock wave. Storm and Stress matches exactly what my heart wants from music.
I've never been drunk nor high but being both at the same time sounds like it would actually suck tbh
(Going off of the US deluxe edition, which is the one I've listened to)
Mean and Leaf Skeleton single-handedly raise the album up 5 points for me. Mean feels like an intersection of all of Bloc Party's strengths: Strong forward motion and muscle, lyrics I relate to a little too much, a beautiful echoing sound that I can only describe as "U2 if they were really good at their one thing" (I hope that sentence doesn't give people who know more about music an aneurism), the ... read more
Four reminds me a bit of Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action by Franz Ferdinand – some of my favorites and least favorites from the band are packaged together, though in this case the strongest songs on Four aren’t enough to lift it up anywhere near favorite status for me.
Listening to the album and reading the lyrics, I got the instinct that Four was the way it was because something or someone pissed the Bloc Party members off while making it, and the band’s presence ... read more
Damn this is a 2/10 for me instead of a 0/10 I'm loving music out here like crazy #numberonemusicenjoyer
The super intense sound and chorus of this one used to make me think it was about some heart rending tragedy until I paid attention and realized its about domming
Edit: 85 -> 95 because the lick lick lick part doesn't bother me anymore
I was depressed recently and put on horror skunx to cope and idc if most of the music was bad because it worked. Cartoon Cat did NOT ruin my day thank you Wilson Horrorskunx for your service to mankind
WE'RE MAKING IT OUT OF THE GARTEN WITH THIS ONE!!!!!!!
edit: SOMEONE ELSE MADE THE SAME REVIEW A YEAR AGO FUCK umm ummm i relate to opila bird heavy in these videos
(Edit: 80 --> 87 the non-peak tracks are still really good honestly)
If you don't love me at my fnaf fansong core you don't deserve me at my Now
This album peaks when you're 14 with undiagnosed disorders, and I mean that as a compliment
(70 -> 65. It's good as long as you're not forced to listen to it and it's getting really popular for commercials oh god)
I've listened to this song several times since I found out about it yesterday, but every one of those times I've opened up an incognito tab so it doesn't affect my recommended. Do with that what you will
This is never the type of thing I would go out of the way to listen to, but I was curious after one of my favorite reviewers, Diamond Axe Studios, talked about how this song accidentally became special to him. I can completely see why, this song captures a specific kind of relief so well, the type of long breath in and sigh that comes when there's a run of good, happy weeks coming up.
This is a TERRIBLE title for this song though, if I saw that and the 53 rating first this is the last song ... read more
