Alright so first thing I gotta say is 2001 clears The Chronic, and for me it's not even close, this album just seems less polished and has too many flaws to be rated that high. One of the flaws it has is it's feature list, it's too repetitive, like every song has the same people on it and it's not like those artists are great in every song, but there are also amazing features on the whole album, such as Snoop's feature on Lil' Ghetto Boy that is simply amazing; the ... read more
Great record, it's pretty short but it's enough for what Kanye was tryna do. I still believe this is Kanye's most overrated album, with 808s & Heartbreak, but I do enjoy it, there are a lot of great tracks with great production (that is the main focus of this project), and good performances from Ye. It's a pretty consistent album, but towards the end there are some less enjoyable songs, that are not bad, but they're kinda of annoying, they almost seem like they were ... read more
Enjoyable album. It's pretty short and has solid songs throughout it such as "Moonlight", "infinity (888)", etc. Although it has good tracks on it, it also has it's fair share of skips and mediocre songs that I mostly feel like are the "rage songs" that don't sound that well and are annoying. X on here has inconsistent performances, but overall I would say he was pretty decent, very versatile, like compare a song like "I don't even speak ... read more
Very overrated album, there are too many skips and mediocre songs for me to call this a classic album. First I gotta say 50 didn't impress me that much on this project, his rapping on most songs was bland and simple, he had good verses here and there, but nothing really blew me away; most songs weren't that good, they were basic, the beats weren't anything too crazy, on some they were even pretty annoying. The features we got were solid for the most part, Nate Dogg was really ... read more
Great album, it's filled with very enjoyable songs with a very consistent track list. Freddie Gibbs' rapping on this album is phenomenal, especially on songs like *God Is Perfect" & "Baby $hit", where he's rapping like his life's on the line. Also I love how Freddie's deep and menacing voice fits in so well with The Alchemist's soft and chill beats; so while were at it, The Alchemist's production on this album was very good, I still think ... read more
I came into this project thinking it was going to be as bad and boring as Goblin, but I was actually surprised by the quality of some songs on this mixtape, the production is not close to perfect but it's much better and less bland that the one on his next album, and the rapping from Tyler and the features were pretty enjoyable on most of the track list. One thing that kinda annoyed me, was that Tyler was always talking about his dad and how he left him and his mom, and some of the weird ... read more
