Samurai by Lupe Fiasco, a top pick for a Grammy nomination in the rap category but snubbed in the opinion of many. Still, Lupe delivers a solid album that touches on themes like identity, struggle, and personal growth, showcasing his skill in weaving complex narratives around social issues and mental health. With standout performances and well-crafted tracks, it’s a project that reflects his artistic depth.
One of the highlights on this project is the intro track, **Samurai**, where ... read more
TA13OO, Denzel Curry’s most critically acclaimed album, is one I enjoy from start to finish. Each Act builds upon the last, growing darker and more personal as it moves from Act I to Act III. While I enjoy Acts I and II, Act III stands out as the best. My favorite track, VENGEANCE, features fierce verses from JPEGMAFIA and ZillaKami that match the gritty production, with Denzel’s rapping at its finest. The beat’s sinister vibe complements the album’s overall dark energy, ... read more
Voodoo by D'Angelo is a very highly praised album, and I can definitely see why. This project is great, full of beautiful and soothing songs that make you levitate. The Neo-Soul production is amazing, creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. D'Angelo's singing on this album is fantastic—it sometimes brings this soulful 60s vibe that draws you in and makes the songs feel even more mesmerizing.
My only complaint with this album, is that most tracks drag on too ... read more
I came into Liquid Swords with high expectations, given its reputation as a classic, but the album didn’t quite deliver at first. The opening tracks felt underwhelming, with beats that seemed lackluster and verses from GZA that didn’t fully capture my attention. However, as the album progressed, things took a turn for the better. Around the midpoint, the energy picked up with standout tracks like 4th Chamber, where everyone delivered amazing verses—especially Ghostface Killah. ... read more
Solid album that Bruno put together here. It’s incredibly fun, and he brings a lot of energy from start to finish—delivering catchy hooks over groovy beats that make for a very enjoyable listen.
The standout tracks for me are 24K Magic and That's What I Like—songs that have aged very well, thanks to their memorable singing, clever bars, and upbeat production. However, a few things hold this project back. At times, Bruno’s lyrics come across as a bit too ... read more
This is my third review of The College Dropout, and it still continues to be my favorite album OF ALL TIME. It may not be the best album I've listened to or reviewed, but there's something about it that I just love—the beautiful samples used throughout the whole project, the rawness of Kanye’s rapping and the features—it just puts me in a great mood.
This album barely has any lowlights, and the few it has aren’t even that bad; the highlights outshine them by a ... read more
First thoughts on this album and... I think it was solid , half of the songs on here were very different from the ones Tyler would usually do nowadays, songs like "Rah Tah Tah" and "Though I Was Dead" are examples of that, they were very aggressive and had weird samples and beats. I didn't always enjoy them, but overall they were decent. The other half of the songs were much more calmer and heavenly-like, they sounded like songs straight out of IGOR and CMIYGL.
I would ... read more
First, I gotta say, the production on most of the songs on here are amazing, Kanye & J Dilla both did a really good job, there were beautiful samples and beats throughout the whole project that all had a happy and joyful mood that I really enjoyed. My highlight songs of the album are "Be", "GO!" and "It's Your World", where Common's flows and delivery were amazing, and also, he fits the soul beats very well, by also giving us some funny lines here and ... read more
Extraordinary experience. Considered one of the best albums of all time, it lives up to that status. Amazing performances from Prince vocally, and especially from the guitar in the second half of most of the songs here. Tho I loved this album, it still needs to grow on me a bit, it was completely different from what I normally review, and probably my first ever full review on a non rap album. This album is amazing and deserves all the praise that it gets, there are no bad songs on here, no ... read more
Decent project by 21 Savage, Offset & Metro Boomin. Alright so first I think 21 had the better performance between him and Offset throughout the whole album, besides like 1 song, where I enjoyed Offset more. They both were decent, but I was expecting more, especially because this album is considered one of the best trap albums of all time, that I don't personally agree with. The main problems with this record is that it feels that the songs are way too repetitive, the lyricism also ... read more
Alright so, it started off very disappointing, with solid tracks, but was expecting much more, especially from the praise this album gets, after that it got a bit better and it had really good songs and then they got a bit worse, it was a bit inconsistent but was still pretty good. When we got to the middle of the track list, it was just full of amazing songs; and then there was a point where I got my favorite off the album, and after that I got one that I liked even more. So from middle-ish of ... read more
So, I enjoyed this album a lot, there were so many great and amazing songs through the whole album, but I was honestly expecting much more, some tracks really did disappointed me, I mean they were solid but I thought it was gonna be 9's and 10's the whole track list; maybe I just need to listen to it again in and let it grow on me. Alright so let's talk about what I liked and disliked, so Lauryn Hill's rapping was insane and it was probably my favorite part of the album, ... read more
Drizzy really thought he was gonna avoid Fanta man's review with calling ts a Playlist, crazy shit. Alright so my thoughts on this "playlist", I think it was pretty enjoyable, there weren't any bad tracks on here, some were just mic and very repetitive, and a lot of songs on here seemed to short and I would've liked to see more from them, Drake's rapping was also pretty solid on most tracks, his singing was also pretty decent, it just seems that some songs ... read more
This album is considered the best Outkast album and one of the best Hip-Hop albums of all time by many people, and I'm not one of them. So the only Outkast album I've listened to prior to this one was Stankonia and I enjoyed it way more, it was more consistent and sounded better imo; but we here to talk about ATLiens, so I think this was a pretty good album, it had amazing tracks on it, but with a lot of inconsistent songs that seemed like there was something that ruined it for me, on ... read more
Lowkey surprised for some reason, I did predict this mixtape being light 6 but thought it was gonna be better. This project is too one-dimensional, like any other Future project; it does have pretty solid songs at the start, but the song quality and enjoyability declines as the track list continues. Future wasn't that impressive on any song, the production was pretty bland but it was decent, it's a average project you expect from Future, there's nothing that stands out, so I ... read more
So Scorpion by Mr. Aubrey Graham himself, I wasn't that shocked about this album being bloated af and having terrible tracks, cuz I've heard lots people say this album has very low lows, and I personally agree with that. Most of the bad songs on the Album are in the second disk that I think is much worse than the first disk; Disk 1 seemed more rap orientated and it had lots of good songs on it, there were some bad songs here and there but the good ones overshadowed them; on the other ... read more
Very disappointed tbh, was expecting so much from this album as it's regarded by many as Eminem's 4th best album. So the album started off pretty good, with solid songs, they weren't anything too crazy but they were good; then at the middle of the track list, the songs got pretty inconsistent, we got some pretty bad songs such as Berzerk (that I don't get the hype for) and some solid ones too, such as Rap God and Brainless; now towards the end of the album is where the ... read more
This is my second review on The Slim Shady LP and I enjoyed it so much that I would say this is one of my favorite albums to listen to rn, I love the dark topics and the storytelling that makes you recreate the scenes that Eminem's describing & rapping about in your head, I also think there's also a lot of replay-ability on this track list, with songs such as Guilty Conscience that I go back to a lot, even before this review. I think there are no major flaws on this project, ... read more
Cool lil project Denzel Curry did with Kenny Beats, nothing on here blew me away but nothing really disappointed me, it was an alright album, it had decent songs with solid rapping from Denzel and a bit underwhelming production on some songs from Kenny Beats. I would've like to see more from this project but overall I think it's decent album and I would give it a Light 6.
Wanted to review ts for a couple of days cuz my friend keeps glazing this and saying it's better than masterpieces such as MBDTF, he's defo on sum; I lowkey thought it was going to be a bit better and more unique, but I think it's a pretty mediocre album, it's very repetitive, the flows, the beats, and the like structure of the songs are very repetitive, the lyrics are also not that intriguing, Tecca's just talking about women and flexing through the whole album; the ... read more
